I have wanted to try a Wartenberg Pinwheel for so long, so this review will be slightly different with it being my first ever experience at using a Wartenberg Pinwheel. I know they look super scary but I have always wanted to push the boundaries and see if they are a spikey wheel of terror or a little prickly pleasure. The Fifty Shades Darker Adrenaline Spikes Metal Wartenberg Pinwheel has the Fifty Shades Darker logo on the head which also features a wheel of spikes they are exactly like the tips of thin nails. This wheel rotates when dragged across any surface. The tip then has a lovely curve upwards to the handle you can then place your finger here to easily control the ammount of pressure you apply, the more you press the sharper the spikes will feel. This curve then spreads out to a handle that features three ridges this is perfect for increasing grip when your hands are slippery. It is also easy and comfortable to hold. Overall the build quality of this Wartenberg Pinwheel is great, It is really sturdy and i am sure it will last many years. Despite the scary appearance when Mr first used the Fifty Shades Darker Adrenaline Spikes Metal Wartenberg Pinwheel on me I didn’t really notice he used it. After applying a little more pressure the spikes tickled my back. Mr was very hesitant when using the Pinwheel however he has now come accustomed to it and traces it over the most tender spots with ease. The backs of the knees and inner arms are the most tender spots however everywhere else I can withstand quite alot of pressure. I would describe the sensation like touching a pin head with your finger tip however it is more spread out due to the ammount of spikes. I love how you can increase and decrease the pressure as on the light strokes it feels like a tickle however when alot of pressure is applied you can really feel a bite which is perfect for sensory play. As far as impact gear goes I really think that the Fifty Shades Darker Metal Adrenaline Spikes Metal Wartenberg Pinwheel is a must have and I am sure it will have a place in every basic impact or BDSM toy box. I just wish I had tried one sooner! It feels amazing!

I adore pinwheels and I have a huge variety of them in various sizes, sharpness, materials and number of spikes. It is actually quite rare for me to use a simple (and more traditional) pinwheel such as this. The pinwheel itself is highly polished and aesthetically very pleasing. The grooves on the handle part are comfortable to hold and help you keep a good grip on the pinwheel. It is a nice, well balanced, weight and a good length; short enough so it is easy to control and long enough that you can easily reach all of your partner’s most sensitive areas. When it comes to intensity, the more pins, the less the intense the sensation. This has a lot of pins. The pins themselves are not particularly sharp on this, so if you love a sharp scratch, this is not the pinwheel for you. However, the pins still provides a great prickly feeling and certainly awaken the nerve endings in the skin, making it far more sensitive to even the lightest touch. Not only is this pinwheel great for beginners, it is good for warm ups, longer sessions and sessions with multiple sensory elements. The pinwheel comes with a storage bag. Unfortunately, the pins do go through the fabric of the bag, The box does fit in the bag, so if you wish to keep the pinwheel in the bag, you may wish to keep it in the box or find someway of covering the head. My only annoyance is that the pinwheel tends to squeak at times. From a personal point of view, this is not going to the pinwheel I reach for first however it does still have a place in my pinwheel collection and will get used, particularly in conjunction with other toys. This is a great beginners pinwheel and if you are curious about pinwheels, I would definitely recommend this one; it is not so sharp or intense that you lose then sensation and general feel of a pinwheel and you are very unlikely to be able to draw blood with it (when using it correctly). If you aren’t new to pinwheels, although basic, this is a good addition to a play kit if you don’t have a simple pinwheel.

I am no stranger to Fifty Shades of Grey. I own a multitude of their products, but this is the first item from the new Darker range. Thanks to Lovehoney for choosing me to test and review this pinwheel. The Fifty Shades Darker Adrenaline Spikes Metal Wartenberg Pinwheel is in a newly designed box, similar to the FSOG products, but with a blue hue around the item on the box. Inside it is neatly wrapped in tissue paper. It would have been a bonus if it came in some kind of storage box. There is a navy blue, satin storage pouch, but the spikes pop through it. At the moment, I’m storing it in a Lovehoney bondage bag. The material is thicker, so there is less chance for the pins to poke through. Back to the wheel… This pinwheel is quite a weighty little number, due to the thickness of the handle, and just oozes quality. The wheel itself features 21 evenly spaced sharp pins and can be easily controlled by the ergonomic handle, which has ridges to aid gripping. The FSOG Darker logo can be seen close to the wheel. I own a few variations of pinwheels, mainly with multiple of rows of pins, but I find that the single pinwheel offers me more sensation, as the power is driven through one wheel rather than several. If you are new to pinwheels, I can confirm that they are not as scary looking as you may think. You can be as gentle as you wish, with the wheel providing a slight prickle and tickle and I’ve never had any pinwheel draw blood, but that depends on if you use loads of pressure. I like to use my pin wheel in BDSM scenes. There are many uses, from simply rolling across various body parts, whilst you control the pressure, to popping the wheel in a glass of ice and then used to roll over a freshly spanked or flogged bottom. The added cold sensation, will see you partner or sub squirming and wriggling at your touch as your senses are so heightened. Add a feather tickler for that extra tease. The metal is easy to take care of and clean. You can sterilize the pin wheel after each use, to ensure it is thoroughly cleaned, but I suggest you thoroughly dry it to prevent from rusting. This pinwheel is suitable for beginners and advanced users alike, you can easily control how you use it and it doesn’t cause pain if you’re a beginner. It can be rather ticklish when used lightly. For more advanced players, you can have fun with adding a violet wand and a body contact. A great essential for every bondage kit.

Well I have always wanted to try a Wartenberg Pinwheel after reading 50 shades books but I’m not 100% sold on it I didn’t have the same reaction to what the book says. I can see there is potential to it but we have only used it once and put it away the bag it comes with is nice but the pins poke through and can get caught on loose strings inside it. My one rattled slightly when it was being used. But hey I’m no expert and have only played with it once. I would say you need to try it because everyones sensitivity is different

Wow wow wow Ok boring bit order arrived on time and in the usual discreet packaging. This comes in a lovely cardboard box with the photo on the front and comes with a lovely fifty shades bag. Not too ideal for storing the pinwheel as the spikes stick out the bag so I tend to keep it in its box. So I’ve never tried a pinwheel before thought they were a bit scary looking and painful. Much less scary than it looks
Bought for a bit of fun as part of a lovehoney offer. It looked a little vicious on the website but when it arrived it was much less scary. The pins aren’t as sharp as they appear. It gives a really nice feeling when you run it over your skin and only feels sharp on more sensitive areas. I loved starting with the cool handle before moving to the pins. I’m not sure sure how often it will see use but it certainly adds a bit of variety.

I have never used a pinwheel before, but had manay a conversation about them and really wanted to try one, so, really happy to get the Fifty Shades Pinwheel to Try. The packaging was simple and unlike most of the Fifty Shades items, it did not come with a storage bag, which was slightly disappointing. Unlike the item itself, which looked flimsy, however was not at all.It was very effective, as with the whole concept of the pinwheel. This pleasure/pain toy gives the option for just that. Gently used, it can tickle and please in most areas of the body, but with added pressure to suit, the sensation becomes more invigorating/ tingling and somewhat erotic. Easy to use and providing some different sensations, this is a great sensory toy, give it a go.

Great packaging with a lovely soft silk bag to keep it in. Feels sturdy and rolls smoothly. Pain but no Pain
The handle is so nice to hold and feels a really good quality item. OK forget this as being an item just for bondage as its great to use as part of foreplay. On opening it I ran it along my arm and have to say there wasnt much feeling there however that all changes when the “victim” is blindfolded and isnt aware of which part of the body will be treated next. It can be used on any part of the body but the soft areas of skin give by far the better sensation/tingle, ie the back of the legs, the side of the body and around the neck. That said the base of the feet and the shin bone areas can also be sensative to its powers. For those males willing to be treated to something special have your partner use it on your penis. This really is where the adrenaline starts to flow and what appears to be pain but isnt really kicks in. For those who want to go to the extreme have your beloved use it at the end and wow how that makes one hard and wanting to cum. One bit of advice if running it down the body one would think that slow movements would be best but in fact moving at speed across the body gives of much more feeling. Remember it really doesn’t hurt bad. It’s a nice pain otherwise it would have stayed in our drawer after the first use but that is not the case.

I love exploring the pleasure – pain boundary, hopping back and forth over it in quick succession is very enjoyable for me. Having read the reviews, I decided to purchase this pinwheel over the plastic equivalent in the hope that the pins would be sharper, and, blimey yes, they were sharp. Once the husband got used to what pressure was acceptable, he set to work running this up and down my body, and I very quickly forgot about my cold, and any other mundane thoughts running through my mind. I saw this pinwheel when browsing Black Friday for other things. and I for some reason that this would be very low quality. and boy was I proven wrong… Not only is this pinwheel of really high quality. but it feel so luxurious. it has some proper weight to it. and the metall shines really nicely. the pinwheel it self is also really nice.it doesn’t squeak when you roll it and do not feel like it will brake if you give it some pressure. when it comes to the spike the good stuff just keeps coming.they feel sturdy and I would have a really hard time thinking these will drop off. the pinwheel comes in a beautiful silk pouch which is not only really sexy and your drawer but also very functional for storage. and not to damage your other toys.overall this is a super sexy piece and I recommend strongly.
