What goes on behind closed doors!
As a big fan of bondage and restraint I couldn’t wait to get my hands on (or should that be in) the Sei Mio Doorway Control Play Adjustable Over the Door Cuff Restraints. The non-slip door bars are simply placed over the top of the door frame, with the straps hanging down, the door is closed to lock the bars in place, and the wrist cuffs are attached to the straps using clips. The straps are adjustable depending on how high you want your wrists to be held in place, and the wrist cuffs fasten using velcro, so again they can be adjusted to fit most wrist thicknesses. The straps, bars and cuffs are all very well made, and the clips that attach the cuffs to the straps are solid, and seem sturdy and reliable. The wrist cuffs themselves are very comfortable, being made of a soft, warm, padded material that is not going to give you any chafing. I was able to wear them for extended periods of time without any noticeable rubbing or irritation. Once the cuffs are on, your wrists aren’t going anywhere until your partner decides to release you. They’re firm and secure, and the non-slip door bars keep everything suspended in place for as long as is needed. I tend to use these restraints more as a foreplay toy as I find that I enjoy being restrained early on in the fun, but then later want a bit more freedom to get more involved. Also, from a practical point of view I find it tiring to have my arms raised for an extended period of time.The cuffs also work really well as ankle restraints, and the non-slip bars and straps can be placed under the door to create instant ankle bondage – you could even create the effect of a spreader bar. However, the cuffs only just go around my ankles (average male, approx 5’ 9”), so someone with thicker ankles might struggle to use them for this purpose.These were the perfect wrist restraints for engaging in some instant bondage play, as they’re so quick and easy to get on and to secure in place. They’re really light and you could easily pack them in a bag to take away for a sexy weekend break – raunchy hotel role-play anyone? Also, the black classic design means that if ‘accidentally’ discovered these could, on first glance, be mistaken for bits of mobile gym gear. I haven’t had cause to clean them yet, but it looks like they would just wipe clean very easily.In summary, I think that these over the door restraints are perfect as a quick and easy bondage option, which can be easily transported and used wherever there’s a door. The fact that they’re also super comfortable to wear (especially with those padded cuffs), and seem sturdy and well-constructed, means that I would have no hesitation in recommending them for any restraint enthusiasts. This means there’s no faffing around with complicated equipment, or drilling holes in the doorframe or ceiling, making them perfect entry-level options for those wanting to give things a whirl for the first time. So good I bought it twice.
I was so impressed with these restraints I bought another set so I could have both ankle and wrists together. It’s a geniusly simple design, executed perfectly. The materials that they have used for everything is clearly high grade, even the straps themselves feel nice and have the Sei Mio name embroidered into them. We already have a lot of bondage restraints but these offer a new and exciting angle to the dynamic. Definitely something to consider if you are new to it, or already experienced. The cuffs themselves are a simple, secure velcro design and they’re super soft and comfortable on the wrists, even when suspending above head height. They’re design isn’t intimidating at all.We also like to use other leather cuffs with them which are easily compatible given the D ring on the straps themselves. These are something that you could easily travel with as they are compatible with any door, giving you some exciting options while on holiday. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.
