This is a really great bondage kit for those who are looking for the next step up, and want to indulge in some sensory play. There are 7 pieces included in this kit, so I will go through each item in this set one by one.Blindfold:This is a cute blindfold. The outside is satin, and the inside of the blindfold has super soft velour padded material which feels lovely. The blindfold is shaped well and blocks out almost all the light.The blindfold secures with 2 elasticated straps which makes it very easily adjustable for most head sizes.Tickler / Flogger:The flogger is really cute, the fronds measures 8 inches in length, and the handle is just over 6 inches; it is comfortable and lightweight to use. The fronds are soft rubber which means it does give quite a sting!The opposite end is a super soft tickler which feels very sensuous when stroked over your skin.Satin Restraints:These are soft and silky tie restraints – which are very easy to use. Just thread the length of satin through the loop and pull tight around your wrists or ankles. They can then be either held by your partner or tied to various objects like a bed or other furniture. Butt Plug:I love this little butt plug, it’s so cute and pretty. The plug is made from cool aluminium and is both seam free and has a very smooth design. The crystal red heart in the base is so pretty, it really catches the light, and sparkles beautifully. This plug is excellent for temperature play. Let me start by saying that I absolutely love this set. With each item I pulled from the box I did a little squeal of delight. I’m no stranger to the odd bit of sensation play but I think this kit is just as likely to appeal to seasoned bondage babes as it is to newbies or curious sextronauts.Possibly the most ‘vanilla’ inclusions in this box are the satin restraints and the matching blindfold. The colour is a deep rouge and the material is soft and sensual. I like the velvet inner of the blindfold which feels sumptuous on your eyelids. It doesn’t block out all the light but enough to allow you to feel significantly sight disadvantaged. It’s well finished and the double elasticated headbands are slim and comfortable to wear for extended periods. Similarly, the restraints aren’t super hardcore, the silky material means it is also soft on the skin – sensuality is the key word here. There is a loop at one end which you can thread the other end through making a slipknot type loop for wrists and/or ankles. The other end can be tied to a bedpost, another limb or wherever you fancy. These restraints are very easy to use and nicely non-threatening like metal or leather handcuffs might be.I thought the double-ended flogger was just adorable. The fluffy red bunny tail pompom is sooooooo soft and feels delicious on the skin. Particularly when used in tandem with the rubber flogger. Again, the flogger is light and unintimidating. It’s not going to cause any serious pain. Don’t get me wrong, it can deliver a spicy tingle if you are so inclined, depending on where (and how hard) you aim it but it certainly feels more designed to tickle and tease. The multiple thin rubber fronds are perfect for awakening nerve endings and ramping up the anticipation. Again, this too feels well made and nice in the hand.The pinwheel is also a great addition to this kit. These types of toys can often look a little intimidating but, despite its many spikes, you’d have to be using a lot of pressure to break the skin or cause real pain. It’s sensation, not pain that this wheel delivers. I found this to be of great quality and well made – there’s no squeaking or sticking from the wheel as it turns and the metal feels like it will last.The nipple suckers are simple but effective. The sturdy black rubber gives them a slightly more industrial, kinky vibe but they do what they’re meant to, look great and stay in place. Speaking of staying in place, the butt plug in this set is small but mighty. It’s probably one of the smaller plugs I’ve seen but there’s a decent amount of weight in it and the heart-shaped jewelled base is just gorgeous. The metal warms up nicely and is perfectly tapered for easy entry. Perhaps not one for nervous beginners but I wouldn’t envisage this plug presenting too much of a challenge to most bedroom adventurers. I found it really comfortable (and cute) to wear.Finally the bondage candle. Black and chunky, it stayed lit and melted well. I loved the sensation of the wax on my body. It delivers a warm sting but is not burning hot and left little to no marks on my skin. Obviously it depends where you drip it and what your individual pain threshold is but, if you want to add a bit of pain to your pleasure, this is an excellent option. The smell was pleasant too, not overpowering or artificial, and it comes in a plastic sheath that you can store it in to minimise mess. Overall I can’t sing the praises of this kit enough. All the components are well made and well put together. Items can be used individually or in conjunction with each other. They all fit in a relatively small box (30cm by 10cm approx) so this is a perfect set for travelling or a saucy weekend away. I would be absolutely thrilled to receive this as a gift. It’s romantic, sexy and a little bit naughty but ‘soft’ enough to not scare off anyone who might be curious but nervous. The box includes reassuring instructions and safety tips too. Fantastic intermediate bondage set!
The Scarlet Sensations Luxury Bondage Kit arrived in Lovehoney’s discreet plain packaging – always welcome with no hint to what is inside. The box was surprisingly small but everything was very well packed inside – very little unnecessary packaging, which is welcome, and the majority of it recyclable. The kit contains 7 toys – silicone nipple suckers, wax candle, pinwheel, satin restraints, flogger/tickler, blindfold and a butt plug. Some safety information is included and the back of the box has all the instructions you need to get started.This is the first time we’ve used nipple suckers and we LOVED them. They are made from a soft silicone and just need a little bit of lube or spit – squeeze them, place them over a nipple or on skin and release to let them do their thing. We were surprised by how much suction they could achieve and they stayed on well.The wax candle has a lovely glossy black finish. We lit it and followed the instructions to drip the wax from at least 46cm away from your or your partners body. The heat was perfect; plenty to get the sensation without feeling a burn. We had fun peeling off the wax once it had dried too. The candle was larger than expected and should be good for several sessions. The pinwheel is made from metal; feels good enough quality for the price point and is heavy enough – it’s by no means a serious torture device but that isn’t to be expected in this sort of kit! Pinwheels can be tricky when they don’t have enough weight – you have to carefully judge how much pressure to apply – but this one worked well. Holding it gently and gliding it across the skin was a wonderful sensation.The satin restraints were lovely – a deep scarlet colour and oh so soft. Each one has a loop at one end so it is simply a case of threading it through itself for the wrist/ankle end then tying the other to a suitable bed post etc. Each one is approximately 1m in length, which is perfect. The one issue with this type of restraint is it tightens when pulled away from the knot – so do keep an eye on the pressure being exerted on the wrist or ankle joint.The flogger/tickler is quite small and ok quality. Not sure how long this one will last. The tickle end is soft and fluffy; the flogger end is soft too. It is quite a stingy flogger – usually the case with short tails – this doesn’t bother us but a medium or long length flogger is easier to control in terms of dynamics of the sting. Not a problem but worth bearing in mind. On the plus side the flogger end can also be used as a tickler – just a different sensation to the fluffy end.The blindfold is a lovely scarlet colour, like the restraints, and is made from a soft material. It is at the cheaper end of blindfolds – quite similar to the ones you get on long haul air travel, but works well. It blocks out light and is comfortable to wear for extended periods.The butt plug is a high point of the set – or at least it was for us! We have a large collection of metal plugs but this one stands out for good reasons. It is small, which works well for this type of set. But unlike most Lovehoney metal butt plugs we own, it is an almost burnished gunmetal grey rather than stainless steel finish. It looks fantastic. The end is a heart shaped scarlet crystal, which completes the look and matches the rest of the toys in the kit perfectly.The kit is marketed as a ‘next step bondage kit’ and that feels about right. If you’ve used the basics, but want to explore some more interesting sensations without spending premium amounts of money on individual toys, this is the kit for you. It would make a great treat for a kinky date night (or trip away!).Sometimes sex toy kits feel like they have a mix of expensive and cheap toys, but this one is nicely balanced. The quality is good throughout and it feels like great value overall. The flogger/tickler is probably the weak point but that is a minor criticism. We loved the kit.

Great beginner kit
This contains everything you need to explore sensation play. There are a range of items to experiment with temperature play, sight depravation, restricted movement, light tickling and slight pain play and anal play. The blindfold could be better however as a beginner kit it is sufficient. The nipple suckers are easy to use and the cuffs are easy to use and discrete. The candle has a pleasant smell and good for temperature play (just remember to start far away before moving closer). The butt plug is unusually a dark grey colour which looks good and is different to the usual shiny silver which is a nice touch, however personally I feel it could be slightly bigger without being daunting for a beginner. The flogger/tickler is nice, smaller than expected but a nice introduction and something a little different, having two in one.Overall, the contents are good quality and nicely selected for beginners to experiment; I’d definitely recommend it. The only downside is it comes in a cardboard box which doesn’t give an upper market/high quality feel so including a fabric storage bag would be a nice touch.

Great for beginners
I found this bundle to be a great collection of useful items for those wanting to explore more of bondage/bdsm play.Allows you to try many different aspects without spending a fortune on one piece of equipment.Buttplug is simple and a good size, good quality material.Candle worked well and lasted a while, had to experiment with distance of the drips but it was very enjoyable.Nipple suckers are simple but effective, great feeling without discomfort. Took a little practise to get them right first time but loved them.Pinwheel gave great sensations and was a fun addition to sensation play as was the mini rose flogger. Soft soothing end for light teasing and a whippy end that can deliver i light whack without being too much. Loved running the tails over partners body.Satin ties are good for beginners but only allows so many positions, very good material, found them strong and comfortable.Eye mask/blindfold worked well but i found i could see around it sometimes, maybe my least favourite item.

Taking the next step
My OH and I were really excited when this package arrived to test and review. And loved the fact that there were a couple of toys that we hadn’t used before such as the pinwheel and the candle and toys that we had used but different varieties, such as the nipple suckers, the ties and the flogger. The only slight disappointment was that the butt plug is very much aimed at a beginner in anal play which didn’t seem to fit with the rest of the kit. What is really great about the kit is all the items, with the exception of the pinwheel, are very straightforward to use but really add to the fun and excitement of bondage play. The candle was a little scary at first having never used one, but it didn’t need to be as the wax was hot enough to make you jump each time it dripped on your skin but didn’t leave any marks. The ties are a silk finish which adds a different sensation to most of the ties and restraints that are available. And the flogger is a great teasing toy, especially when you use the blindfold, as the partner receiving the attention doesn’t know if they are about to be flogged or stroked/tickled. We found that the pinwheel, while it is well made and the wheel rotates freely without noise, needed some research into how to get the most out of it. Once we had done this this too was a great addition to our playtime. Overall my OH and I had an amazing time using this kit and we will definitely be using it over and over and will be looking for a new candle when this one runs out.

Not quite the 'next-step'
The packaging for this kit is super straightforward, but not really a gifting sort of box, if I were to present this to my OH, I’d most definitely repackage the whole kit so it felt a little more premium for the price. It’s quite a small box too, not at all what I expected, and everything’s fairly crammed in. There’s English in the non-electric toy safety manual, but no English at all in the operating manual, which, considering it says ‘warning’ in other languages, is a little concerning that there’s no English for me. Seems like some important information to know in there. I’m pretty disappointed in the candle, and how it was advertised. There’s no mention in the description or reviews on site, or on the box whether the candle is scented or not. Didn’t see anything until the candle packaging, and was extremely disappointed to see it contained patchouli oil. This is one of the few scents that triggers my migraines, so this candle will see no use and will need to be disposed of. The scent is extremely strong, so I’d be interested in knowing the fragrance percentage, as this effects not only the way the candle burns, but how harmful it is to breathe in the fumes, something you’ll be breathing in when using it for wax play. Some people can have allergic reactions and asthma attacks in response to these oils, so having an unscented candle would’ve been more safe for a larger audience. Or listing the candle as scented, as well as the scent, could’ve allowed for a more informed purchase. There is also no temp listed, not onsite, on the box, or even in the safety manual (aside from a ‘keep below 45°c’ that is generic for the whole kit, not the candle specifically, if that is the burn temp for this candle, that is at the higher end of bondage candle burn temps, and for introduction to wax play, it should definitely be at a lower temp point). Bondage candles come in a range of temps, and people buy dependant on their preferences. Some people, like those with hypermobility, have very sensitive skin which can tear or scar very easily. I would’ve liked to have known what the temp was prior, or even at all, as I’m left without a definitive answer from the kit. I wouldn’t call the restraints or blindfold a scarlet red, more of a candy red/pink. But the jewel on the plug is definitely more of a red, and I would’ve loved to see that red throughout this box. The gunmetal is also a very nice colour scheme, and I’d love to see more of that. I don’t think we’ll be using the restraints, they just feel like they either won’t hold, or, knowing how silky this material can be, will self-tighten to the point of needing to be cut. I’m very surprised there aren’t bondage safety scissors in here, considering how these restraints can be, some of those delving further into bondage may not have any on hand, and will need to risk using regular scissors or blades, which is extremely unsafe. Elastic on the eye mask didn’t need any stretch for my head, and is in fact too big for me, it’s also slightly rigid and uncomfortable to wear. The pinwheel is probably my favourite part of this kit, it has some weight to the handle and actually feels premium. It’s fairly dull to me, there’s no sensation of pain or anything, even on my extremely sensitive skin, I can feel the individual needles when I add minimal pressure, but no pain. This will definitely be the item that gets the most use from this kit. The flogger is also kind of decent, the threads are silicone, which I wasn’t expecting, but was pleasantly surprised by. There’s definitely the potential for a bit of sting with this one, if that’s what you desire. The pom pom tickler feels okay, but the initial smell is a bit off-putting. The nipple suckers are fairly sturdy, and give a good amount of suction when applied. Although there’s very little resistance when pulling them, and they come right off. A good pair for introducing nipple play, but not great for a ‘next-step’ bondage kit. A set of the screw mechanism suckers or even clamps would have been more appropriate in a ‘next-step’ kit. Overall, I’d say this kit is a mixture of a beginner to intermediate, more for dipping your toes into a higher sensation of pain and pleasure. I do wish that some of the pieces were a little more premium to reflect the price, or even if the packaging was a little nicer. Still a semi decent kit for couples wanting to explore.

A good starting kit for BDSM newbies!
I am ecstatic to have the chance to review this little kit!It contains several items that you would want to try when you want to feel something more intense, and if you are new (or like me, not too new, but with some unexplored territories, such as wax play) to bondage and sensation play, this kit is incredibly helpful to try new things. Right from the off, the packaging has clear safety instructions on the back. I did not need to google “how not to burn myself with a bondage candle”! 😂 It is a plus for practicality.Inside the box, the kit is neatly organised with each item individually wrapped. I was most excited for the nipple suckers, as I’ve been wanting to try them for a while now, and they are so adorable! Cute, effective, and simple to use – what more could you ask for? It’s been a literal pleasure to use them (tip: try adding a small drop of lube to the rim).The metal butt plug is another standout. It’s a small size, perfect for beginners, and the weight and cool metal give it an amazing feel. Personally I prefer bigger toys for anal play, but my partner who is quite new to plugs absolutely loved it! As a bonus, the darker shade of the metal of the plug and the pinwheel is simply stunning.The soft, padded eye mask is a wonderful addition to this kit. Woman’s view: A great bit of kit for those who have experimented with light bondage/BDSM and want to elevate to the next step. The kit offers a variety of contrasting sensations, from soft and silky to rough and ready. The pinwheel in particular was a favourite of mine, allowing my partner to tickle or tease depending on pressure of area used! The silky constraints feel fantastic against the skin, still allowing to be tied up and dominated whilst being gentle enough to pull/tug against without hurting the skin! Butt plug is a great size for beginners and feels great. The candle was an additional great as not often found in kits like these!! All in all this kit has become a regular addition to our play.
