I received this Lovehoney Vanilla Lickable Massage Candle to test and I couldn’t wait to try it out as I’m a massive fan of using massage candles and always wanted a lickable one to make things more naughty and exciting when giving/receiving massages. The candle comes in a little circular silver tin with the Lovehoney logo on the lid and instructions on how to use the candle on the bottom of the tin. Once opened I could smell the vanilla scent straight away and its gorgeous, once lit the scent soon filled up the room and I couldn’t stop sniffing, it was lovely! It didn’t take long to get a decent amount of wax melted maybe about 10-15 mins or so. As you don’t need loads of it just a light drizzle over the body works well and feels so silky smooth against the skin, the texture is really nice its slightly oily but not to the extent of using an actual massage oil and its also not sticky either, it absorbs into the skin well leaving your skin smelling gorgeous. Also teaming all that with the warm heat of the wax as its poured over your skin just tops it off and makes it feel so relaxing! I actually couldn’t wait to see how it tasted and judging by the smell I thought I’d be in for a treat but I was let down slightly. Whilst it does have a hint of vanilla when you lick it it tends to taste more of candle wax than vanilla which may sound obvious as it is wax but surely you’d want it the other way round?! Whilst I would still happily lick this off someone’s skin whilst giving a massage I don’t think I’d be able to do much of it before I got sick of the taste. However its still a lovely massage candle that I’ll use more of in the future!

We got this product and was really excited as we have never used a lickable massage candle before and my wife loves receiving massages and I love giving them to her. This candle comes in a little metal tin and upon opening the tin you get a really lovely scented Vanilla candle. We have used a few different massage oils (non Lickable) before however this massage candle is extremely different and my wife liked the thought of having the candle wax massaged into her and she said the wax was at a right temperature to pour straight over her back also having the lovely scent in the room helped her relax a lot more and it meant after giving her the massage she loves (sometimes with the Lovehoney Hot Rocks) I was able to lick her back and knew it was safe to do so which heighten the mood even more.

I brought this because my partner and I love massage candles. Unfortunately, we haven’t had any for ages, so I decided to surprise him and brought this as part of the 3 for £10 bundle. My partner suffers from back problems, especially when he gets stressed. So imagine his surprise when he got home from a long day at the office to be treated to a back rub! The candle filled the room with a gorgeous and sensuous aroma, which really got us into the mood and it was just the right temperature to put straight onto the skin. My partner loved it and said it not only helped his back but really turned him on as well! It was then my turn to be rewarded with a massage, and I completely agreed with him, it was an absolutely blissful experience! I received this candle through the LH sex toy tester scheme, as always it arrived promptly and discreetly. After waiting for my boyfriend to come into town, we were ready to give this item a thorough test-run. I was very impressed with the simple, stylish packaging of this massage candle. It isn’t tacky like many other similar products. It has the LH insignia on top of the little tin, and simple instructions on the bottom. The rule of thumb with any massage candle is to light it for around 30 minutes (this time may vary depending on the size of the candle, and how much oil you need), blow it out, then drizzle it over your partner’s body. Simple. When this candle is lit it gives of a very subtle vanilla essence, which is really lovely. It’s not overpowering, or sickly sweet. The joy of massage candles is the anticipation, whist it’s lit and you’re waiting for it to heat enough oil, the flame gives a lovely atmosphere and you get half an hour or so of sensual foreplay. Once you’re ready to go, blow out the candle and carefully drip the oil over your partner’s body. The oil isn’t super-hot, it’s lovely and warm and feels amazing dripping onto the skin. If you are anxious that it’ll be too hot – just leave it sitting for a few minutes before you use it. It can get a little messy when you’re pouring it, so to save any furniture getting a little oil ring, I would suggest having a little tissue or something similar to put the candle onto in between pours. One thing to note is that I found the vanilla smell stronger with the oil than when the candle was lit. The ‘kissable’ aspect to this massage candle is great. Although the taste of the oil itself is nothing special, in fact I could hardly taste it, the fact that it’s not going to do you harm if you do ingest it is a big plus. I for one have found it very hard in the past to not use my lips and tongue when giving seductive massages, with this oil you don’t need to hold back. My partner really loved this experience. The mix of the seductive lighting, the temperature play, the subtle essence, and my hands all over him really did drive him wild (and led to some mind-blowing sex!). After the whole experience this oil left my skin feeling soft and smooth. Both my partner and I have sensitive skin, and neither of us had problems using this massage candle. I would highly recommend this massage candle to anyone that loves sensual, erotic play. It’s not suited to those that prefer a ‘wham-bam-thank-you-ma’am’ experience. For the price of this product you really can’t go wrong, it is a very good deal for the few pennies it costs.

My girlfriend and I are getting quite the collection of these massage candles now. We have this vanilla one and the strawberry one from the Lovehoney brand. I can’t recommend them enough. They’re easy and fun to use. They are great value as they last for ages. Like our other Lovehoney one, this vanilla one has a great, and strong, scent which fills up the room and stays there for at least 24 hours. The smell is sweet and natural. The oil you get when it melts is a nice texture and massages into the skin nicely. The heat adds an extra nice element to massages and the oil leaves the skin soft. I think this is our favourite scent, but I recommend getting all the flavours! It’s nice to have choice or to light different scents at the same time. I’d really like it if Lovehoney did some scents that weren’t as sweet, and a bit more manly.

I think the Love Honey massage candles are great! I absolutely love the smell of this vanilla candle. It burns relatively quickly, after 30 mins of foreplay the candle would be ready to trickle over your partner. The temperature of the oil is lovely, not too hot at all. I bought the candle to make up a third item in the 3 for £10 deal. We were somewhat apprehensive about the idea of hot wax play at first, but how wrong we were. The candle smells divine as is it burns and warms up ready for play time. I asked my husband to try it on me first and all I can say is Wow Wow Wow!! The wax was hot enough to make me take notice when he poured it on, but it was just short of the pain threshold. The massage oil that you are left covered in is soft, sensual, slick and oh so yummy. It’s a really romantic way to bond with your partner. We light a couple of candles to set the mood and once the wax had melted enough my partner poured some on. I was bracing myself for the heat of the wax but it was lovely and warm. It was a perfect massage the melted wax felt amazing on my skin. And, when using the candle myself it stayed really smooth and didn’t need reapplying much at all. The smell was lovely and makes you smell great afterwards as well. It even tastes nice! I bought this on a whim as part of the 3 for £10 deal and I’m so glad I did. My other half and I really enjoy massaging each other and usually it does lead to more adult activities! So I thought a massage candle would be perfect to make it a bit more romantic. At first he was worried that the wax would be too hot and I’d burn him but it was fine as long as you leave the wax to cool for a while first and spread it out immediately after pouring it as a large pool of the wax can feel quite hot. I was amazed at how little you needed to use to cover the whole back and it stayed slippery for ages allowing a longer massage than other products I’ve used. The smell was nice and not too strong and overly sweet, and the taste was also very subtle. We’ve used it several times now and there’s till about half the candle left so really good value for money and I would definitely buy another!

I was a bit worried that this candle would be too sickly, as I find that vanilla can be a little overwhelming at times but I was proved wrong. The scent is mild but smells like a vanilla infused coffee bean, smells totally delicious. It helps that I am a total coffee lover, so this candle really did hit all the right buttons. As a massage candle, the wax isn’t actually that hot, verging on warm, so this is a candle I would happily advise for newbies to use. It leaves a fresh clean smell on the skin, no oily residue and is fun to use. What is there not to like?

Smelt nice in the tin, but could barely smell it when lit. Also for enough wax to be melted to do a Back massage i would probably light it an hour before your ready. We lit it for a few mins like the video said and there was not enough at all and the candle tunnelled down and burnt out after about 15/20 mins because an insufficient pool was made. As for lickable; yes it was but barely tasted of anything. The tin was nice that it came in but the sticker on the top Makes it look uber cheap.

I bought this as me and my partner had the cherry one previously, which unfortunately ran out. I wanted to try one with a softer smell as the cherry one did smell and taste quite sweet, and my partner loves vanilla! (Though not vanilla sex might add)! As usual it arrived quickly in a discreet box (I had ordered other stuff too). The candle has no individual packaging which is fine as there is really no way it could get damaged. Once the lid is off, the silver case is pretty enough so you could light it anywhere in the house without it being too obvious what it is. And there isn’t real chance of the massage oil being spilt once the wax has melted. The wax melts into the oil very quickly so there’s no need to have to light the candle a while before. We often bring this out as a last minute extra if we want to turn a normal daily massage into something a little sexier. Of course the oil is hot once it has melted but really not painfully hot. The closer you pour it onto your skin the hotter it will be, but it cools instantly as soon as it hits your skin, turning into a lovely smooth oil that you can run all over. It soaks right in, so no need to worry about messy spills! Our previous candle lasted us a couple of months as was probably used around once every week or so, but it all depends on how long you leave it burning. We often forgot to blow ours out! Or would leave it burning a little longer just to get rid of any after ex smells that can sometimes occur. However they are cheap enough to buy in bulk so it doesn’t really matter how long they last. We will definately be ordering more and trying the other scents!

We were really excited to try out a candle so bought this on offer. We may have spoiled the fun a little by losing it temporarily and so my OH fetching a ‘normal’ candle to use on my while I was tied up and blind folded (hearing a lighter being used when you don’t think there’s any candles present is unnerving when you’re in such a positiion!!!). So our experience was put in comparison to the normal candle. We finally used this one last night and firstly the smell is lovely. It’s strong but not sickly or overpowering, it really is pleasant. The container is very easy to handle without mess or burning your fingers too. When the wax is put on skin it becomes a thick oil which felt great for both of us and stayed like that until it had rubbed in (ie. didn’t turn hard again). The only ‘complaint’ from us would be that it wasn’t hot enough….I know that’s kind of the point though! We found we like the burn from hot wax rather than the soft warmth of these candles. BUT it’s not really a complaint, and is likely a plus for a lot of people that aren’t in to pain, and for that reason they really work as promised. Oh and the taste of the oil was good to, so doesn’t stop kissing or oral fun after.

I got as a replacment for an item and thought to give it a try. The tin it comes in is a very nice metal with the Lovehoney logo on the lid sticker. One of the most sensual things a couple (or group, lol) can do is exchange long, deep massages, and if I’m honest, there have been occasions where I’d prefer to be on the receiving end of a good rub down rather than have sex. But like most things, even massage can get a little boring and it’s nice to shake things up every now and again. These Lovehoney Lickable Candles are a fantastic way to do that. They come in unassuming little tins which, once relieved of their tastefully stickered lid, could be left on your coffee table during a house party and only those who have one themselves would know their intended purpose. The Vanilla scent of this one is a lot more noticeable than I thought it would be, which is a bonus for us. Vanilla is a warming, comforting smell and this candle subtly fragrances the room with it, making it perfect for those lazy, lingering massages. It’s sweet but not cloying and it could be used as a regular scented candle if you were to discover that warm wax isn’t your thing. In use, the warm, non-sticky, non-waxy oil glides over the skin, and as we use quite a bit it stays slippery, but not to the point of feeling like you’re covered in hot lube. You can still feel the texture of your partner’s fingers, or whatever they’re using to massage you. When licked, we both found that our skin just had a faint taste of base oil, no vanilla whatsoever. That was easily remedied by adding a tub of Ben & Jerry’s Vanilla into the mix. Our favourite thing to do with this combo is dripping the warm vanilla oil on one area (shoulder, nipple, bum cheek) while letting ice-cream melt off a spoon onto the mirroring body part. With the oil just being bath warm, it feels a lot less intense but a lot more intimate than doing the same with a bondage candle. If used after a morning shower, it leaves a light scent and the skin feels silky smooth until it’s washed again. I can’t keep my hands off my hubby’s shoulders at the best of times, but they feel extra nice after using this stuff. I’d definitely recommend this product to lovers of massage or temperature play, and considering the heat isn’t hot, it’s a perfect way for someone just taking an interest in hot oil / wax play to find out if it really is something they want to explore.

This candle smells amazing! As soon as you take the lid off, it smells like creme caramel! It doesn’t smell that strongly while it’s burning, but that’s something I’ve found with other massage candles as well. On the skin, it smells even better, even more like caramel. It also feels really good too. Hot, but not too hot, when poured on to the skin. It’s not sticky or anything, just moisturising, and the skin feels really good afterwards. The tin is fairly small, but you get a lot of use out of it. And it’s a good sturdy tin.

I’ve not had the chance to use this as a massage candle on my partner yet, but I have burnt it and used some of the wax on myself. Lately I’ve had some muscle issues and my doctor has suggested that I massage the muscles, so I thought to myself, “hey, I can use that vanilla candle!”. As soon as I got home from the doctors, I took a bath and lit the candle, the scent filled the room and let off a gorgeous vanilla scent, a little sweeter than I expected. As soon as I got out and dried off, I poured a little of the melted wax into my hand, and to my surprise (I’ve never used a massage candle before) the wax wasn’t too hot to handle. As I massaged it onto my skin, it left me feeling almost moisurised, and left a lovely scent behind. Hopefully I’ll get to use it on my partner soon, before I use it all on myself!

This is the first massage candle I’ve used and I love it, the wax does get increasingly hotter especially if poured straight onto the back, which my OH hates, however never hot enough to be considered unsafe, which is fantastic. It smells a bit sickly but could be worse and it doesn’t burn evenly, however if you scoop the sides you can use it as a lotion rather than oil, a little of either goes a long way also and feels moisturising rather than greasy. Nice, small discreet tin and don’t worry about getting any wax on the outside of the tin, it’s very easily picked away. So basically a mess free massage in a tin. 🙂

I bought this as we like massage and flickering candle light in the bedroom always makes for a romantic atmosphere. The tin they are in is great as the candle can just be left out on the bedside table and no one is any the wiser, it just looks like a scented tea light. It doesn’t take long once lit for there to be enough candle wax to use for massage. With my OH dripping it onto me it was a great temperature, not too hot to burn but hot enough to be pleasurable and the tin doesn’t get too hot either. The wax is great for massage and a little goes a long way. The wax doesn’t leave an oily residue and leaves your skin feeling silky and smooth plus the smell is lovely too. This little candle brings a sense of excitement as it melts down for you and adds the perfect suspense before the hot (though never painful, which we were worried about) wax makes contact on your skin. As promised the wax instantly forms a soothing oil that my partner loves to feel over her her back which both acts as a relaxing experience and an erotic intro… It is worth noting, however, that whilst this may be non-toxic it really isn’t as lickable as you might think. As a candle on it’s own it does have a faint smell but is not too overpowering and could easily be used outside of the bedroom as once the lid is taken off as it is very discrete. This little candle may be the sweetest smelling product I have ever purchased. It smells like amazing vanilla chocolate ice cream heaven. It’s sweet smelling and drool-worthy. This is the first massage candle I’ve ever tried. Until I saw this on lovehoney I didn’t even realise that there was such a thing! The packaging is very neat, tidy and discreet with no need to hide it away. It takes a few minutes for the sweet smelling wax to start melting once the wick is lit. it’s best to let a pool of wax build up before pouring. The advice was to blow out the candle before pouring but I found no problem carefully pouring while the candle was still lit, so as not to disturb the flow of the massage. The sensation of the wax straight onto the skin is nice and warm and (surprisingly) not too hot at all. I expected this to be messy and sticky but actually it feels like a high quality massage oil, clean and silky and leaves no mess. It really does seem like magic and you can even lick it as well. My only downside would be that I found the scent almost too overpowering at times, almost sickly sweet. I would like the scent / flavour to be more subtle but I’m yet to try another flavour.

I’ve bought the Lovehoney Vanilla Lickable Massage Candle as once, in a spa, the massenger used a similar product and both me and my partner really enjoyed it. After looking for this kind of candle for a while I was very pleased to find it on Lovehoney.com. There isn’ t really much to say about it… The candle has a nice balanced smell of vanilla, but it also come in other flavour such as cherry. As the candle burns, the wax is melted in a massage oil that can be drop on the skin for a nice massage. The feeling of the hot wax on the skin is really relaxing and leaves the skin soft afterwards. As the oil is really hot, I suggest to drop it first onto your hand and not directly on the partner skin, but this really depends on the partner taste and on the situation. The massage oil is not greasy which makes it convinient for playing on your bed linens. The oil does have a nice taste, making it ideal fro foreplays. Gentlemantoy

This little Lovehoney massage candle is superb quality and contains no nasty chemicals. It is also Paraben and Phalate free and contains all natural ingredients, and so ticks all my boxes. The vanilla fragrance is delicious – it make my whole bedroom smell wonderful. This candle is also lickable, for extra bedroom fun! The candle smells stronger than it tastes, which is very subtle but very nice. The tins may seem quite small (holding 60 grams each) but the candle lasted ages – I have had at least 2 massages from this candle so far, and will probably get a third one too. After lighting the candle, wait around 10 minutes to let the wax melt out to the edges. Whilst you are waiting for the oil to melt you can enjoy the lovely aroma in the room, which will make you feel really in the mood for a lovely relaxing massage. When the oil has melted you just blow out the wick, and pour the oil onto your partner’s body either direct from the tin or onto your hand first. The oil itself is really moisturising and a gorgeous texture. A little goes a long way, and it leaves your skin feeling so soft and smooth . You could also leave it on your skin as a body moisturiser afterwards as it feels so silky and nourishing I didn’t feel the need to wash it off. Overall this is a really lovely little candle and great value for money. It feels very luxurious on your skin and would make a wonderful gift.

the aroma from this candle is wonderful quite strong vanilla you can easily smell it once lit, which I love! There is nothing worse than a candle which smells nice but when lit you can’t smell it. It is a very versatile product as it can either be used as a sensual massage or as part of temperature play, it ticks all the boxes for both! The massage oil the candle produces feels fabulous on the skin it provides a great base for the massage and there is no greasy feeling afterwards and no need to wash it off. As for the lickable part, It is because it isn’t toxic but it doesn’t taste that great, but that’s still not a negative because it’s not disgusting, just not tasty! It wasn’t enough to put us off using it during foreplay I would just call it more kissable than lickable. But overall very impressed and we will definitely be buying this product again.

We definitely like this product it’s great for a massage with it’s slick oil like consistency! We did find that the taste of the vanilla could be a bit more powerful as you couldn’t taste it all that much but that is probably preferable for others. I f there was a stronger one we would defiantly buy it. It might be a candle but the wax doesn’t get to hot so it is really erotic for the person getting the massage!!

The aroma from this candle was outstanding! For such a small package it quickly filled the room with a delicious vanilla scent despite only being lit for under 10 mins. The oil that it produced was surprisingly long lasting – thick enough that only a small amount was needed, but runny enough to easily use. As it was coming straight off the candle it was pleasantly warm, without being anywhere near hot enough to burn, and a fun extra twist on a massage. It terms of much you get – the 10 mins it was lit for provided enough oil for me to give OH a good massage and it looks like there is enough candle left for 2 or more likely 3 more. My only negative was the taste, which I found to be a mix of artificial and waxy – but tbh that wasn’t the reason I wan’t this candle. If you want a lickable massage oil I suggest you go for a dedicated one rather than this candle. Overall the candlelight added a romantic feel to the night and was a fun twist on our normal routine.

I got this as a free gift with a larger order and I love it! The smell of vanilla is really strong which is good as I like a strong scent in candles. It was quick and easy to melt and when dripped onto my skin was nice and hot but didn’t burn, perfect temperature. Its really good to use just as a plain massage oil and my partner got a good few knots out of my shoulders with it. Which was a nice romantic moment for us. But it also works well in a more kinky session using the oil instead of normal candle wax. couldn’t be more pleased that this was a free gift will definitely be buying more when I run out as it lasts for ages! The only fault I can fin is it only really melts in the middle so you get a hole in the middle effectively but no big deal. 🙂

I decided to buy this as our first foray into wax play. Reading previous reviews I thought it would be a good place to start. It arrived in the usual plain, brown box, securely packed. It is in a small tin with an easily removable lid. When you take the lid off it smells beautiful. We lit the wick and waited for a pool of wax to form. My OH blindfolded me while we were waiting! When it was ready he slowly poured some wax onto my breasts, fairly close to my skin. It felt amazing – hot but really sensual. He then massaged it in slowly and gently. This feels fantastic, warm and slippery. It is not at all sticky and leaves your skin feeling soft and silky. We tried pouring it from different distances from the skin. If you are nervous that it would be too hot you can pour it from quite high up – although that makes it much harder to aim! This is a lovely product that I would highly recommend as a good starter for this kind of play. The tin is small but will last a long time. It smells amazing. Although the information says ‘lickable’, my OH wasn’t keen on the taste. I would say kissable but not clickable. If you are keen to try out wax play this is a great way to start so go for it!

This is an amazing candle from Lovehoney! It is a lovely and safe way to cover your partner in delicious massage oil. The best part of this candle is that it is lickable to make things more interesting. When poured onto your body, it is a pleasure to use and isn’t too slippy which was a concern initially. I make candles have done for three years ..I started making massage candles last year…so when I got this in my mystery bundle box I was curious to see if it was better than mine ^^ I use soya wax jojoba oil and Shea butter and pure essential oils…I don’t think this is as pure as mine..on melting it really needs a slightly bigger wick to burn evenly..it smells great while burning..a lovely vanilla scent. Poured onto my skin was perfect temperature felt really nice been rubbed in to..not too oily or greasy and my skin still feels lovely and soft this morning but the smell was very overpowering when being used as an massage oil very sickly sweet wasn’t pleasant just a bit too much..tried tasting it too but wasn’t very nice …xxx

We ordered this candle as part of an offer and on a bit of a whim really, not too sure what to expect, but after we first tried it we were so happy we bought it. This candle smells amazing, and unlike some candles it didn’t take ages for the smell to to really start coming through. After only a couple of minutes the wax starts to melt, I think we started to use the wax about 5 minutes after we started burning it and there was plenty. At first we were slightly concerned about the heat of the wax so tried a little on the finger before we went ahead. I was massaging my partner and dripped some onto his back and he loved it, and so did I when he did it to me, Just hot enough to feel amazing but not hot enough to hurt at all. We didn’t buy it for the taste or lickable aspect but it was really good to know we could kiss each other and things without worrying about chemicals as it is edible. Unlike some other massage products this didn’t leave the skin feeling greasy at all, my skin felt moisturised after using this.

This candle is really cute and a great deal in the 3 for £10 offer. I like the design of the tin, and the smell is utterly gorgeous. It smells just like vanilla fudge. Of all the scented massage candles I’ve tried, this is definitely my favourite scent. The smell is lovely even just in the tin without it burning, but it does have fantastic aroma when lit. The candle lasts a good amount of time, and the wax is a really good texture and temperature for wax play. Before trying these candles, I didn’t see the big deal in getting special candles to use for hot wax play, but now I wouldn’t be without them. The wax takes on the consistency of massage oil when burned, so it pours really nicely and feels great on your skin. It also makes your skin smell nice and feel really nourished. It’s not greasy or sticky and rubs into the skin really nicely for a great massage. Personally I love the warm feeling of it on my skin and it really enhances arousal through the sense of both touch and smell. Do be careful if you’re wearing clothes at all though. My partner was massaging the wax into my chest and couldn’t resist rubbing against me, forgetting he was still wearing a shirt, and the wax does leave an oily mark that we found very difficult to remove from fabric.No fault of the candle, but worth being careful with.

I bought this vanilla scented candle as part of an offer because I do love a massage and thought this was an interesting source of oil – and it should be nice and warm – there’s nothing like cold oil to make my shoulders hit my ears 🙂 It’s a small tin (it can be difficult to just size just by looking at the photo) but when lit, the candle soon pooled with plenty of oil and smelled lovely. The oil wasn’t too hot, even when poured direct from the tin, and went on to my skin very smoothly, allowing a lovely slide of skin on skin. It was absorbed into my skin eventually, but not too quickly, meaning I got a good length of massage. Because it did sink in, I wasn’t left too oily, but the scent remained, very nice! We didn’t try tasting it (we forgot! too carried away with the hands-on experience…) The only problem I found with the candle was that the oil-wax didn’t melt evenly. It pooled around the wick, even when left burning for quite some time before use, and I was left with a hole around the wick where the oil had been used, and wax around the outer edges of the tin. This meant that when lit again, it didn’t really generate much oil and the wick just burned down. I’ll have to take a knife to it to scrape the wax into the centre! So for me, so far, this was a one-use candle, which is a shame as there is plenty of wax left. I’ll work out a way to get it melted though!

I got a set of three of these candles in strawberry, cherry and vanilla for me and the SO to try out together. First off, to give you an idea of the size- they’re about as wide as a standard tealight but are much deeper so are probably about twice the size. The little tins they’re in are really nice and make transporting/storing them way easier than if they were open. Once you’ve lit them the smell is really good, fairly strong and very vanilla- this was the least “fake” smelling of the three I tried and was definitely my favourite for smell. When actually pouring the melted wax/oil on someone it’s not going to be hot enough to burn but certainly enough to shock your senses! Once on, the oil is really nice, you don’t need much to cover the whole of someones back and it feels really nice for both parties whilst massaging. However you’ll be left with a waxy feel to your skin afterwards, it sinks into your skin a certain amount but it still feels like it’s there- I didn’t mind it at all but my SO wanted to wash it off pretty quickly. As for the lickable bit, I tried this and wasn’t impressed. They don’t taste anywhere near as good as they smell, they might be safe to ingest but the waxy texture spoils any enjoyment you could get from it.

If I could, I would have one of these lit at all times and in every room of my house; that’s how good the vanilla scent is! I bought this as part of the 3 for £10 as I’d been curious for a while. It was seriously worth every penny. And the price is unbelievable for the quality of this candle. I’m going to stock up! The tin is as you see in the picture. Cute and small in silver, with a really sleek branded sticker on the top and instructions on the bottom. I found it really easy to open even when the wax gets over the side. If, like me, you’ve never experienced a massage candle before, this is totally the one to go for. The smell is DIVINE and fills up the entire room like I’ve been baking all day. I know you’ll want to dive right in but the scent filling the room makes it worth the wait, I promise! If you blow out the wick almost instantly the oil is just hot enough for your body without burning. Because of this we did find we needed to keep lighting it to get to the heat I like in a massage, but this is just preference. My OH is experienced at giving massages to me and unlike other oils and lotions, this really enhanced the experience rather than making me feel cold and then sticky. I have sensitive skin and break out easily but my skin just seemed to drink up this oil and if anything felt nourished afterwards. Amazing result! The lickable feature of this candle is a little disappointing. This isn’t flavored and when you get that gorgeous smell it is a bit of an anticlimax to find it doesn’t match the taste. However, this did mean that we could move straight from sensual massage to more intimate play without the hassle of cleanup so I’m not going to complain! I’ve already bought the large one and some little ones for gifts this year. I’m in love with this massage candle!

I won the lovehoney vanilla flavour lickable massage candle 60g. On the 12 days of Christmas competition lovehoney ran. So thank you Nicole. The arrived quickly within two days and was inside a sealed brown Jiffy bag. It was just a discreet as normal parcels you receive when placing your orders. The candle comes in a small round silver tin which has instructions on the bottom. It has a pull of lid that has a lovehoney branded sticker on top. Which is very easy to remove. The vanilla candle has six essential oils which makes it perfect for using the candle to give your lover a sensual massage. We already own one of the 113g candles we prefer to use the candles to scent the living room or having one burning before a love making session and fill the bedroom will a lovely aroma. The vanilla candle is no different as it gives off a lovely sweet smell. The only problem I had with this candle is after 20 minutes the wick goes out. It has done this now 3/4 times we have used it. So slightly annoying that we have to keep re-lighting it. Overall this is a lovely little candle that is perfect stocking filler or romantic gift. That if you like a massage or like us you just enjoy the candle to make the room smell lovely.

The candle smells great and the feeling of the warm oil (no hotter than wax when having waxing) touching your skin is divine. I found that the oil isn’t as smooth as massage oils, it’s more effort to massage into the skin. I don’t know if this is with all massage candles or just this product. I also found the oil to be pretty tasteless, although it smells great. I have brought the strawberry massage candle to see if that is any different, I’d buy the massage candle again because it is very sensual and fun.

My SO and I have never tried massages, so we bought massage oil as well as this candle from lovehoney. The packaging is very small and cute and the smell is quite mild but distinctive. I love vanilla so for me this was perfect. We lit up the candle and waited a while for it to melt. One thing is, when you blow the candle out before you pour the wax over your loved one’s back do warn them as it can feel quite hot initially. If you wait a few extra seconds the wax is very warm and pleasant. As a massage oil it performs as it should and a small amount gives you enough friction as well as enough slippage to make the massage thoroughly pleasant. The warm drops falling down your back are an amazing sensation which I thoroughly recommend. Whilst edible lubes and oils aren’t really my thing, this doesn’t have a distinct flavour which is nice. It smells lovely both for the masseuse as well as the person getting the massage and fills the room with a subtle sweet aroma. The smell is not as overwhelming as the massage oils that lovehoney has to offer. I like both strong scents and mild scents as this one so this is very nice in my opinion. Overall, the massage experience was fantastic and I am likely to buy this item again at some point.

We bought this candle for relaxation as well as foreplay and it hits all the right spots! Combined with some relaxing music, careful hands and dimmed lights, this takes my OH to a very good place… so much so that they ask for it on a regular basis. The only issue we have with it though is that this one candle can’t provide that many goes – it’s smaller than expected, and we found that only the central section around the wick actually melted. Sadly, that meant we were done with it after only a few sessions even though there’s visibly more wax left. Maybe we’ll find some clever way to melt the rest of the wax too…

I wasn’t expecting a lot from this product. It sounds gimmicky and there isn’t a pricier version, both suggesting this item is purely for novelty. This is not the case. My partner has never been into proper bondage candles, however she loves this. It doesn’t burn too hot, so there is minimal chance of getting hurt, just the sensual feeling of the hot wax. Very sexy. Wow. When I purchased this product it was initially one of those which I threw into my basket as an off chance that it might be worth a go and subsequently thrown into my draw. What a mistake that was, from the strong smelling vanilla essence that it emits, to the lickable aspect this product really does have it all… Ok so maybe that’s over stepping it a bit, but it’s not unpleasant to smell, and I love a bit of wax play, even if this does advise to cool more that I normally do. The candle is small, but it’s beautifully discrete even with the lid on. It smells absolutely divine – The vanilla isn’t overpowering or too sweet. It’s easy to light, and there’s oil almost immediately. I’ve found that it’s best to pour the oil as the wick burns, as the flame snuffs out quite quickly if you leave it. The wax is a perfect temperature – warm but definitely not at hot as wax play candles. The oil stays on the skin for quite a while, and gives enough lubrication for a good massage without pulling. We used the candle to tick another first off of our list. It was a spur of the moment buy. The smell of the vanilla was lovely. The candle burnt at a slower pace than normal ones and the oil was so spreadable you only needed a little. We liked this and would buy more in other flavours.

I bought this for my partners birthday hotel surprise. As always, it arrived in that plain brown box….the excitement over a brown box!! We were both a bit wary at first about pouring hot wax onto each other, however after reading some reviews we were reassured that it wasn’t like a normal candle wax. You need to leave it around 10 mins to melt the wax, all the way to the edges is best. To start i poured it on OH back and gave him a massage. It didn’t say anything on the tin about NOT pouring it onto intimate areas, so we gave that a go next time and man was it fantastic. the hotness of the wax was just perfect, it felt so naughty but super enjoyable to have it massaged into my breasts and private parts. OH certainly enjoyed having it poured over his bits and massaged it. It certainly got us both in the mood and was the perfect start to an amazing evening! It is small, so next time i might go for the bigger size as it seems better value. well worth it though!!!

A great addition would be having a small V shape put into the edge of the can to allow for directional pouring. So after much consideration my gf and I finally decided on a basket of goodies from Love Honey but before I paid I spotted this little candle and sneaked it in. Having just received our order today… perfectly packaged in a discreet brown box with no suggestive markings or information, we dove right in. Whilst getting acquainted with our toys I decided to light our little candle up and was pleasantly surprised by the sweet but subtle scent of vanilla that flowed through the room. After 20 minutes or so of the candle burning there was more than a sufficient amount of oil to do some teasing. Having blindfolded my partner she was unaware of what I was going to do next. After dribbling some of the oil onto random parts of her body and offering up a massage it turned out that it felt so good I had to use the entire candle. Please note that my girlfriend usually does not care for massages but she said the uncertainty of not knowing where or when the next hot spill was coming really got her going. As others have said maybe keep this little guy for laundry day because although its small a little goes a long way. Thankfully she has agreed to change the bed! Final notes… Beautiful scent, cheap, possibly messy depending on usage and I would imagine a good starter for those wanting to build up to a wax candle… At least that’s what’s planned in our house tomorrow night!

Me and my partner have used this candle many times and have another one on order. We found that the wax did melt at a much lower temperature then a normal candle, but still maybe a tad too hot to go straight from flame to skin. Give it a few seconds to cool first. I found the resulting massage to be just as smooth as using an oil, but dried out a tad quicker. The feeling is apparently very nice and adds a new dynamic to the massage. So me and my girlfriend are really into massaging eachother so we decided to purchase this to mix up our massages. The candle itself is very small yet the aroma is actually really strong which we both enjoyed and helped relaxed us further. We’d got the vanilla flavour which was a nice sweet smell. We allowed 5 minutes for the wax to melt in order for it to be poured so that was fairly quick. Now when using it, it actually feels amazing and very relaxing, especially when its rubbed in as it has a smooth feeling as appose to sticky which actually surprised us. However, the only issue we both had was that it wasn’t very hot. We understood that this was made to prevent burning or painful feeling however we expected a little more heat to come out of it so you twitch a little however none came which disappointed us slightly. Nonetheless though, despite the lack of heat, the product itself is neat and left us both feeling extra relaxed and sensual; it also helps the mood feel sexier.

This candle was smaller than expecting, but it smelt amazing, I left it burning for a couple of minutes and poured it on my boyfriends back he loved the feeling of it. I started the massage with the LH lickable vanilla massage oil, then part way through the massage I surprised by partner by pouring this hot massage wax on him. (It was a surprise but we’ve previously tried actual wax candles so I know it’s not going to shock him). Anyway he absolutely loved it and the wax is a great consistency for massaging. He tried it on me afterwards. I hate actual wax as I can’t stand the heat but this massage candle melts at a good temperature and direct contact with the skin is bearable. Plus the wax gets rubbed around quickly so it’s never really hot and on your back for too long. I’d definitely recommend this to spice up a bedroom massage 😉 would love to try the different scents next time.

When you take the lid off at first it smells super strong, but once it’s burning it isn’t too bad, so you don’t need to worry about the smell giving you headaches. I have very sensitive skin and there were no problems at all 🙂 tbh it left my skin feeling super soft. Not too hard to clean up either: some wet wipes did the trick when we tried them. It melts at a comfortable temperature but it does burn a little if you pour it on your hands before massaging it in, if your partner isn’ comfortable with you fripping the oil directly onto them, then you could burn your had a little, but it isn’t too bad. All round a super relaxing experience, would happily use again.

I bought this on impulse, no idea what to expect! Turns out, along with the pleasant smell, my partner seemed to enjoy the warm liquid being poured over her and then massaged in. The only drawback being the sheer (small) size of the candle and amount of wax that melts without having to burn the candle for an overly long time. Sadly, the wick was also a bit small, so while we still have plenty of wax left, there’s no wick to light and get it melted. Would definitely buy again, maybe a bit more patience for letting the wax melt to get the most out of it in the future!

I bought a couple of these candles a while ago and have used them a few times. The vanilla is a really nice scent but not too overpowering. You need to let it burn for a while, maybe 15 mins so get enough wax to play with. Even when it is just melted it is not so hot that it would be really painful but enough to make it fun to play with. All depends how high up you hold it. Works really well alternating with ice and if you put some massage oil on the area first, it makes it easy to remove when you are finished. This was our first time using candles and I would definitely recommend them as a starting point to see how you like it. A blindfold and some restraints and you’re good to go with some fun sensation play 😉

I’ve always wanted to experiment with wax but the mess has always put me off so this seemed like a great way to try it. The candle arrived and it looked great and smelled amazing and couldn’t wait to try this. We lit the candle and left if for a while to get plenty of oil ready. I had one in cherry and loved it but am so big into vanilla figured i’d try it this time. So it has a lovely but soft vanilla scent(the cherry was very strong like wild cherry). The oil it’s self is very moisturizing and feels so good drizzling on as it warms very nicely. You can literally blow it out and pour and it’s not burn hot at all just very nice. Literally I’ve take showers hotter then this gets. So the oil sits on the skin for a while but does leave a soft hydrated feel behind which is very nice. It melts relatively quickly but we got plenty of use from this candle. Fair warning, let it burn a sufficient amount before using it. We were too hasty in our attempt and used it almost as soon as it started burning. This meant that we couldn’t get the full potential out of this candle as the edges no longer burnt. So please learn from my mistakes and let the top layer burn evenly before using, just like you would a normal candle.

I adore these candles. They give a great feeling massage when poured on the body – my husband is always asking for more! The wax doesn’t get too hot so it’s a great introduction to wax play. I would definitely recommend for beginners! The only real down side we have found is that the flame doesn’t melt the wax around the outside of the tin, so only half the candle is usable as massage oil easily. You can get more of it to melt if you hold a lighter flame against the side, but it’s a bit of a mood killer for an otherwise very romantic and sexy experience.

The selling point of this candle is definitely its scent. It has a lovely vanilla aroma; it’s not overwhelmingly strong, but it’s not subtle. It’s like any vanilla candle you might get your hands on. Of course, the difference is that the Lovehoney Oh! Vanilla Massage Candle is made from a mixture of oils and does not contain any actual wax like a regular candle would. This means that it melts into useable massage oil, which you can drizzle onto yourself or your partner to engage in some sensual massage. Whether you use that as foreplay or you just want to pamper yourself or your partner, well, that’s your business!There’s no downside to the product. It’s a simple thing that does exactly what it’s supposed to do. Though I’d love to see LH carry some actual wax play candles that /are/ made of wax instead of solid oil, that isn’t a fault of this product. I’ve enjoyed using this solo, to be honest. It’s not super messy, and you can somewhat control how much oil you use from the candle as long as you’re careful when tipping the tin. You really don’t need to use a lot of the oil for a massage, so it’s a product that will last a few sessions, even if you’re doing a full-body massage on someone. It can’t be used for any variation of wax play because there’s no wax to pour onto yourself – the candle is solidified oil, so it melts back into that mixture of oils. If you’re looking for an actual wax play candle made of wax, this isn’t what you need. But, if you want warm massage oil in candle form for easy fun, the Lovehoney Oh! Vanilla Massage Candle is a great choice!
