Could eat it off a spoon
this little bottle packs a lot of punch, unscrewing the lid immediately releases the beautiful smell of vanilla, naturally the first thing my partner and i did when getting edible oil was to taste it. The results,, 10/10 would eat again. The oil is of a fantastic quality allowing for a lovely smooth massage, it lasts on the skin for a while as there’s nothing worse than starting a massage only for all the oil to have being absorbed by the skin before you’ve really gotten into it. A main concern when getting this was how long it would last due to the bottle only being very small, however it’s an age old case of, a little really does go along way, which is unfortunate really because i found my self putting on a little too much so i had no option to lick it back off.

Relaxing night in
This massage oil comes in quite a small bottle, which makes it perfect for travelling with and also means it’s easy to store. To give you an idea of the size of this bottle, we got enough out of it for two full body massages and there is still a little bit left in it which would probably be enough for a back massage, so if you are wanting this just for small back massages there would be more than enough in it for quite a few of them, so it really is good value for money. It’s also the perfect size if you are simply planning a sensual, romantic evening with your other half. I was kindly given the vanilla scented one by lovehoney to test which I was delighted with as I love the smell of vanilla. This oil smells lovely and isn’t overpowering or sickly sweet. As for taste, (as this is an edible massage oil) , it doesn’t really taste of anything which I liked, nor does it feel weirdly greasy on the lips or tongue. Now onto the purpose for which it was mainly intended-massage! My husband and I tested this oil out by giving each other a full body massage. The first thing we noticed is that it comes out of the bottle quite quickly so care needs to be taken not to over pour, of course an advantage of this is that it’s easy to get out of the bottle, just screw the lid off and pour. Secondly, a little doesn’t really go that far. We both needed to use a lot more oil than we thought would’ve been necessary for each ‘section’ of the body. A con of this is that needing to touch the bottle multiple times with greasy hands makes the bottle very greasy too. However, two full body massages with some left over is still quite good for the size of this little bottle. We found with this oil that while some of it seems to absorb into the skin the majority of it does not and it does leave the skin feeling greasy and slippery-which can be a good thing if massaging for foreplay-but it does require a shower after to get the greasiness off. It feels really relaxing being massaged with this oil and the scent adds to the relaxation by being soft and sensual, also having your partners hands rubbing sensually all over the body is quite arousing. All in all, I would definitely recommend this oil, and as someone who has only ever used baby oil in the past for massages, I much prefer this oil- it’s not as greasy as baby oil, it smells amazing, and is kissable too! I would definitely repurchase.

Lovehoney Vanilla Edible Massage Oil
I was kindly chosen to review this brand new edible massage oil, it arrived quickly and in discreet packaging as always. I’ve been waiting for Lovehoney to bring out a range of massage oils so when I found out I was so excited and knew they’d be brilliant. The massage oil came nicely wrapped up in paper to protect it from damage. The bottle was a lot smaller than I was expecting but as I later found out it’s the perfect size. The packaging is really nice, it’s simple yet still manages to look great. The bottle features the Lovehoney logo in brown/beige colours that match the vanilla theme. On the back is a description on how to use the massage oil and a list of ingredients which is nice and informative. The bottle opens by twisting the top, it comes fastened quite tightly to make sure it doesn’t leak. Inside is a red cap which I presume is used to drizzle on the oil. The oil itself smells amazing, just like vanilla, my boyfriend described the scent as ”like biscuits” and I kind of agree, it really is yummy! I used the oil on my boyfriends back first, using the oil makes it a lot easier for your hands to glide along the back. The smell is amazing and it tasted just as good. My boyfriend really enjoyed his massage. When I finally got him to give me one he used a bit too much and I was covered in oil, it’s important to remember with this that you shouldn’t overdo it unless you want to be covered in oil. I really enjoyed my massage though, the oil feels amazing on the skin, not at all sticky either which is the reason i’ve never picked up a massage oil before. Overall I love this massage oil, I’m planning on using it a lot over the winter months along with my Lovehoney hot rocks. I’d recommend this to anyone looking for a massage oil or a nice couples treat.

Shame it doesn't taste how it smells
Bought this expecting great things, but was rather disappointed with it. The oil smells wonderful, and is great for a sexy massage as a little goes a long way, so I have no issue with that side if it. However, it actually tasted like play dough! This wasn’t quite what i wad expecting from an “edible” oil. We will use it again for massages, but must remember not to lick 😉

Very nice oil
I was chosen to test this product and here we go. The bottle was smaller than I expected but you only need a tiny amount each time which is really good. Do be careful at not using too much because you’re partner will be super oily. Another pro is that the oil lasts for quite a while before you need to reapply some which was convenient. As a person using giving the massage I think it improves the experience, it’s very smooth and as someone who hadn’t used any oils before it definitely made it more sensual. It’s even better when you’re receiving the massage its even better, you feel super soft and it’s almost warming. My skin felt amazing afterwards. The only down side for me is I would have liked it to have a stronger smell, the vanilla smell was subtle but nice. I did taste test it too and found that it didn’t taste bad or artificial which would be good for foreplay after a massage.

Sweet smell of vanilla
Unscrew the lid and immediately the sweet aroma is noticeable, after a swift inhalation to contemplate the presence of vanilla, we moved on to the purpose of this item, the massage. A little goes the long way phrase I have seen described is not strictly correct, however copious amounts of oil are however not required either. Like all oils, it is about working out how much oil you require, if you underestimate and then repeatedly returning to the bottle will results in one slippery item. In regards to the edible element, obviously it’s not a shot bottle waiting to be poured down your throat, it even says on the bottle it’s kissable massage oil, and to be fair, it does not cause your face to wrinkle and wince the moment it comes in contact with your tongue, but at the same time, don’t expect the essence of a vanilla pod or vanilla sugar to overwhelm your taste buds. The oil does leave a slight greasy texture, but then again, this product is not aimed at professional masseurs and a slippery naked body(s) is generally favourable in the bedroom. Thus so far the oil has not marked any fabrics to date so overall, I can not find a real fault with massage oil, and would conclude it to be a suitable purchase for anyone considering it.

Smells delicious
I bought this as part of an offer, me and my OH have experimented with massage before using body lotions and such but they don’t work that well, we wanted to give each other proper massages. We both work long hours and this can really get you in the mood if you’re feeling tired and worn out. It isn’t too oily, it doesnt sit on the skin. It sinks in lovely and leaves the skin soft and smelling delicious! It tastes slightly oily, but definitely of vanilla. I would say that I’m not too eager to lick it directly off my OH’s skin, but if i get in my mouth, it isn’t an unpleasant taste. The bottle is small, but you won’t run out fast as only a tiny bit is needed!

Could taste stronger
On first impressions, the size of this bottle seems small. However, don’t allow this to put you off as there is more than enough for a few uses. I also discovered that warming the oil slightly before use, means you can use a smaller amount as it goes much further. The small size of the bottle means that this massage oil is perfect for a naughty night in a hotel, or weekend away with your partner where a bigger bottle might not be as practical. Now some vanilla scented/flavoured products can sometimes smell (and taste) quite sickly and artificial. On opening this bottle, however, I was pleased to discover that it smells very authentic, not too sweet and not sickly. After having a sniff I decided to have a quick taste. Once again, it was not at all sickly and the taste was not overly artificial. The taste is more subtle compared to the strong scent, and you get a slight after taste of just oil. This isn’t particularly unpleasant, I just would have preferred the vanilla taste to be slightly stronger. A little of this oil goes quite a long way, a small drizzle was easily enough for a sensual back massage from my partner. Although the oil did initially feel a little greasy to the touch, it absorbs into the skin relatively well. It does leave a slight greasy sheen on the skin, but I found that once I’d had a shower (with the sheen still on my skin) my skin felt softer than before using the oil. I also have sensitive skin and found that this oil did not aggravate it at all, so that shouldn’t be a worry if you also suffer from sensitive skin. This oil is perfect for just about anyone; team it with some candles and massage rocks for a sensual, relaxed evening, or even add in some restraints and a blindfold to tease.

Little Firecracker
This little bottle of fun packed more than I expected! A little definitely goes a long way (I have a very tall and broad shouldered man, so delighted not to spend most of my time re-applying oil!) The smell is just like a fresh Vanilla pod and not sickly sweet at all. I didn’t get a strong flavour when i tasted it just a slight hint but it wasn’t foul tasting, so for any kissing or licking action this is a perfect choice! It is runny enough to spread but not too much that you have to chase it round your hand to prevent waste, so another plus for me. I purchased this along with some other items in the 3 for £10 section and so used it with the LoveHoney Hot Massage Rocks! Hubby enjoyed his massage session very relaxed by the end. He had my special hand massage while we waited for the rocks to cool then applied and massaged with those too and I didn’t need to reapply any at all!!! He was very pleased as has missed my massages apparently. The only thing that would have improved it would have been getting my twins out to finish the job apparently lol…So maybe next time eh

Yummy
This is the first massage oil I have ordered from Love Honey and it did not disappoint. It comes in a cute little bottle which is clear so you can see how much is left. I really wish that this bottle came with a squirt top so you can squeeze out the desired amount of oil rather than pour it out because it’s very easy to pour out too much and get it all over your fingers. The smell is a nice vanilla scent not too over powering, I licked it to see what it tastes like but to me there was not much of a taste at all. I use it to massage my parters feet and back. It was easy to use, It wasn’t too runny and it wasn’t too thick, it was just the right consistency for me. I thought it lasted a long time and it wasn’t greasy at all. So all in all a great massage oil just a shame about the top but that’s my personal preference. I look forward to trying the other scents in the range.

Massage yes, lick no
Sensual massages are always good, they relax you and allow you to be in tune with your partner in a totally non sexual way. Or they can just be a part of foreplay. When you recieve this bottle all you need to do is open the cap and remove the stopper inside it. I removed it and kept it so I could put it back in therefore stopping spillages in my drawer. This massage oil is great, you don’t need a lot to use it and that means despite the size of the bottle it will still last a while. It is non sticky and absorbs into the skin nicely leaving it soft. I wouldn’t say it smells like vanilla, but I don’t think it smells like anything particularly. As for the kissable part, well its just like licking oil to me really. It’s pretty tasteless. But don’t let that put you off, its a really great oil just don’t lick it…………

Vanilla heaven
First I want to say this product smells AMAZING! I’ve experimented with loads of different brand massage oils and I just have to give this product an A+. It also tastes really good and feels really good on the skin. Perfect for sensual play
I purchased this edible massage oil in the Lovehoney 3 for £10 valentines offer – and it’s fantastic! I was surprised at first to see how small the bottle was, although I should have guessed by the description! To give you an idea of size, we used up about a third of the bottle on 2 back and torso massages. The packaging itself is quite basic, just a clear bottle with a Lovehoney label around the middle. The good thing about having a little bottle is that it’s perfect for naughty weekends away, and won’t get you into trouble at the airport! There is a little red stopper plugging up the opening inside the bottle, so there’s no need to worry about leakage. When you remove the cap you can instantly smell that gorgeously sweet vanilla fragrance. It’s not too strong and not at all synthetic smelling, it really does smell very natural. Almost like cupcakes! You really don’t need to use much of this oil, as it does spread very well. My only gripe with this is that it’s really difficult to just pour out a small amount due to the large opening in the bottle – it would be much, much better if it came with a dropper. My OH accidentally tipped out loads the first time we used it, and needless to say I got drenched in oil! (Quite nice actually…) As you rub the oil into the skin, that sweet vanilla smell really emanates and creates a lovely, sensual atmosphere. After its all soaked in, the skin feels really soft and smooth, and of course, smells beautiful! When it came to the taste, it wasn’t quite as good as we were expecting. It’s certainly edible, but doesn’t taste much like vanilla at all. We still had fun licking and kissing it off of each other regardless! One thing I really like about this product is that it’s made with all natural ingredients and doesn’t irritate the skin, like some other oils do. This is great for us as we enjoy practising ‘erotic’ massage techniques on each other and we’ve previously had to make do with lube – but a Lovehoney advisor confirmed that this massage oil is safe to use on your genitals. Just be aware that it’s not condom safe, so you won’t be able to have intercourse with condoms afterwards unless you wash it off. Overall, we really enjoyed using this massage oil. It smells delicious, is completely natural, and rubs into the skin really well. Only downsides for us were the size of the bottle, lack of a dropper, and the disappointing taste.

Soft and Soothing
Nothing the OH loves more than a massage. Got this as a stocking filler at Xmas to go along with the hot stones. Arrived in discreet box as usual, loose, but amongst other items packed with paper to stop them rattling about. Lovely, not overpowering scent. Tend to place the bottle in some warm water before use. Once warmed, drizzle over shoulders and lightly pour down spine to buttocks. The oil can then be worked upwards and outwards which leaves the skin shiny and soft. OH loves the soft aroma and totally relaxes. Once all has been absorbed find it’s best to apply some warm stones and cover with a warm, soft towel. this really helps the OH to unwind and normally ends up with her nodding off. Job done. Gives me time to have a beer, and the telly to myself, for a while. Would certainly recommend trying it.

Beautiful product
I bought this as a sale item to fill up my cart, and I was very pleasantly surprised! This oil is beautiful and smells absolutely amazing. It feels great and doesn’t leave an awful residue, but I would recommend a shower afterwords unless you want to look shiny for the rest of the day. We bought this oil after having used unscented massage oil for a long time. The texture is nice, but the smell is closer to strawberry than vanilla (which may not be a bad thing!). Be careful about The cap is a bit difficult to open when your hands are oily.

Smooth as silk
OH and I enjoy massages and have used other very similar oils before which we loved but we decided a new flavour to try would be fun and gave this a go. It is great! The smell is really good, not too powerful or too weak just the right mix. The feel is great for both parties as it isn’t sticky and a little can go a long way but it is well priced so we tend to get a few at a time. (especially in the offers) It doesn’t taste at all bad so can agree with the “kissable” on the label! The bottle is small enough to slip into a travel bag so there is no excuse not to get a massage and enjoy this product!

Little bottle of goodness
This is one best oils ive used. Spreads so nicely like babyoil and smells so nice. Not over powering smell just nice enough that it could be good enough to eat. I bought this massage oil as part of the 3 for £10 deal and it was a very good choice. The oil is very easy to use as it has a stopper in the bottle so that when you open it it doesn’t spill everywhere. The smell of the oil is beautiful, a warming vanilla which makes it very sensual so it helps you and your partner get in the mood. The texture of the oil is very smooth and is easily absorbed into your body. It matters how much oil you use but I think the oil could last a long time considering it’s small size. Also the size of it makes it easy to fit into any bag for travel. Overall, I would highly recommend it as it will make massages more enjoyable and relaxing.

Massage Oil
I picked this up in the 3 for £10 section on a whim to try it out with my girlfriend as well as some other bits on bobs. We laid out towels, lit candles and everything was fantastic. The massage oil made her body feel and look fantastic and the vanilla scent added to the experience. I would definitely recommend this for masseuse roleplay or just a fun surprise for your significant other. And with it being £4.99 I recommend that everyone tries it once. The only downside of it is that we used 2/3rds of it on one full body massage.

Great to make the mood romantic
This little bottle is great to use within foreplay to make a environment more romantic for both you and your partner. With a lovley suttle vanilla aroma that filled the air. Much better than the standard smell from most massarge oils. It is also not greesy or sticky and can be washed off without no fuss if required Some downsides i felt was it was not easy to poor out. With no built in pooring spout to slow the speed it poors out. This means you can end up using more than you required, this linked with the size of the bottle means it can be used up quicker than expected.

I bought this to try with my OH and thought why not give it a go. It arrived quickly as always and once it arrived I couldn’t wait to try it out. Nice non-sticky oil
Bought this oil to give my boyfriend a massage on his birthday. The oil is a really nice vanilla smell and as everyone has the same worry with massage oils this does not end up going sticky on the skin. My boyfriend said it felt warm on his back once I started rubbing it in. Also it doesn’t go sticky or taste/smell horrible when kissing the body with it on. It comes in a nice, travel size plastic bottle, which would be ideal if we wanted to take it on a weekend away.

Brilliant
I have to say, I thought this bottle was a little small when it came, however big things come in small packages!! You need very little of it when actually used, it goes on smoothly and works wonderfully 🙂 it smells great but lingers in the room and on the sheets a little! Also, if you use the contraceptive patch, avoid putting this near as it makes the patch peel off. Tastes ok, a little plastic but still good 🙂

Love this stuff
Despite being a really small bottle, this stuff really goes a long way. Just a few drops are needed for each use, and it smells absolutely amazing, good enough to lick! It has an almost warming sensation on the skin, and it is not sticky in any way. It rubs in nicely and does not leave a film on the skin- just a soft and smooth feeling. It’s great for all over massaging either with hands or a massaging tool and is a great way to relax and bond with a partner. I have only used the vanilla so far but plan to try other kinds too as it is my favourite thing to be massaged with. I do wish it came in a larger bottle, but even the small bottles do last a good while and with lovehoney free delivery, getting more is never a problem. One thing i’d suggest is maybe changing the opening of the bottle to a dropper or something, with it fully open the way it is currently, its easy to accidentally pour out too much, especially if your hands are already coated in the oil. Other than that it is an amazing product and i am addicted! Love it!

A warm vanilla treat
I bought this oil to use with a massager and a few other items I’d bought to treat my husband. It was packed in an unmarked cardboard box which I appreciated! It’s a small bottle but the oil does seem to go a long way. It smells gorgeous, but there is very little taste to speak of. As it is rubbed into the skin, it warms up very quickly which is a wonderful feeling when you’re being massaged. I used the oil when I had my husband in my hand and he loved the smooth gliding feeling it gave him (pretty good when my mouth took over too – very velvety feel). Later, the oil disappeared into the skin very well so it didn’t ruin the bedding! My only real criticism is that the bottle neck is wide open so it pours out very quickly – a dropper plug would be very useful so that the right amount can be squeezed out. It did get knocked over (caught in the nick of time) so that plug could avoid disastrous accidents. I bought this as part of the 3 for £10 deal but at £4.99 a bottle for 30ml, I probably wouldn’t buy it on its own.

Fantastic
This was ordered along with a pvc bedsheet and love honey massage candle. Great buy, it smells pleasant and doesn’t dry up so a little goes a long way. We used it with the pvc bedsheet covering the normal bedding so the extra went on that. Gave for a great massage and you can use it all over the body. The smell is intoxicating

This oil is the first massage item my partner and I had bought and we were really impressed with it. I will warn you you will want to eat this as soon as you smell this. It smells like a gorgeous decadent vanilla desert, but too bad it doesn’t taste like it. Was really excited to try this product when I ordered it as vanilla is my favourite smell/taste. I wasn’t disappointed! Smells great and lovely consistency
I came across this massage oil and wanted to check it out instantly. We usually use almond oil to massage each other but the taste of almond oil isn’t great. On first impressions, the bottle is quite small, as described by the other reviews, however it’s a perfect travel size. Also, a little goes a long way. Underneath the screw lid is a little stopper which I found a bit difficult to handle. It would be nice if it had a little hole at the top instead. As soon as you start to pour this oil, the scent is absolutely lovely and adds so much to the massage experience. The oil has a smooth consistency and spreads easily across the skin. It’s not too sticky or greasy and it absorbs relatively quickly so you don’t get grease all over the sheets. Lastly, the taste is nice, not amazing, but still better than the taste of almond oil. Both my partner and I absolutely loved it. We would definitely be buying this again and maybe try some of the other flavours.

Kind of disappointed

So I’ve had this bottle a good 4ish months and still half left we use this at least once a week a little more when we 1st got it. I totally love this oil it’s not sticky like some other brands and doesn’t dry up too soon. And seams to last forever. It smells incredible and tastes it too so ideal for them intimate massages and not having to wipe off before using your mouth when your hands get tired. Will be ordering more of this brand in different flavours. If I was being picking I would have likes it to be a flip lid as can be a bit fiddly getting the screw lid off with slippery hands. But this doesn’t put me off at all. And could always transfer to a different bottle. This oil is lush smelling, it’s a really nice vanilla scent that is not too overpowering. It does leave the skin a bit greasy but that is to be expected with any oil. After buying the love honey massager, me and my partner decided to invest in this oil to use with it, and I am glad we did. This stuff smells amazing, the vanilla scent is gorgeous, and in no way over powering like I was slightly worried it would be. Although the 30ml bottle looks small, a little of this oil really goes a long way! A few drops of this were enough to use for a back massage. The bottle itself has a stopper – which I’d recommended keeping and putting back in after using to prevent any leaks. I was surprised to see the stopper as I thought it would have been a smaller hole to pour from as the oil pours out very quickly which we found needed the other person to then take the bottle and put the lid back on. The oil to use is lovely, great texture and doesn’t dry leaving horrible bits like many others. When using it didn’t leave the sticky feeling on hands, face or body that some products do. The taste itself was a bit disappointing but it did not have an unpleasant taste so I guess it’s still a plus. It could do with just being a bit more vanilla. Our delivery arrived promptly and extremely well packaged in the usual discreet LH fashion. Later that night to set the mood for something a little more intimate. We decided to try out the vanilla lickable massage oil. The small 30mm bottle has a screw cap with a plastic bottle stopper insert. This is what stops the bottle leaking when stored. However this can make it tricky when trying to reach for the oil from the bedside cabinet without having to go ‘hands off’ for too long during a massage. However, this small issue is soon overlooked when you pour out a little onto your partner’s body. Wow! You do not need a lot to get things started, that’s for sure! I used the vanilla massage oil on its own and with massage rocks and it is lovely! The vanilla scent is wonderful, not overpowering and it really complements the mood. Myself and my partner have had a great few relaxing nights with it so far. We usually use a lavender scented massage oil but that can be relaxing to the point of drowsiness so we wanted to try something different. The smell and feel of this oil is amazing. The scent is so relaxing but without making you too drowsy for post massage play… The bottle seems tiny at first but it turned out that you really only need a tiny amount – it really goes a long way. A lot of massage oils we’ve used in the past can become very oily and need a bit of effort to clean up afterwards but this seemed to be a lot lighter and much easier to deal with afterwards which is great! It is described as an edible oil which allows you too add kissing etc. into massage play but neither of us found this particularly pleasant as the taste on the lips afterwards was a bit off putting. The bottle is also small which can be a little awkward when trying to re apply with oily hands. But these small negatives aside a great little purchase which is perfect as an add on to an order to try a new scent in the bedroom!

We have been using this regularly with the OH! Purchased the Lovehoney Oh! Vanilla Kissable Massage Oil 30ml by accident was looking for lube but that’s my fault any way this oil is great, smells lovely very smooth and when you start to massage your partner keep your mind on the job or things get steamy very quickly. But be careful as it is a small bottle and say to spill it really needs to have a nozzle. It does not stain and is not sticky as well as the lovely smell thus oil does not taste too bad so massage your other half then tease them with your tongue they will be begging you for more.

Love this oil, it smells amazing and is perfect for those times you want to take a romantic night up to another level. I recommend popping it in a warm-hot just of water before use, but don’t have it too hot. I once boiled a kettle, filled a jug, popped this in, and the plastic bottle had warped before I’d opened it, which made it difficult to put the lid back on to save some for future. On the plus side, we both ended very oiled up and wild.

So to start off, the vanilla smells nice. I have the cherry and the vanilla, the vanilla smells pretty nice, but the cherry is a bit artificial-smelling. The vanilla really smells more like almonds than vanilla, but close enough that your brain fills in the gaps. So really the long and short of it is that it smells nice but really isn’t anything special as a massage oil. Really coconut oil is better, cheaper and also smells great if you like coconut and you can just buy it at the grocery store. it’s what all the physical therapists I know use for massages. This was a fun little thing to get as part of a 3 for 2 deal and not much more. It did inspire some nice massages and stuff, but really if i were to make it a regular thing, I’d just get some coconut oil

First of all, the smell is amazing. The cherry version is argueably better, but that does not take away from how nice the vanilla is. A nice thing of using scented oils before sex is how you almost get Pavlov’d into the mood.The item description mentions it being nourishing, but other than a moisturising effect, it didn’t seem to affect the skin much.The massage oil works as intended, it’s very nice and it glides well. The only thing that I could say about this is that it comes in quite a small package, and if you want to do full-body massages you will run out quickly. Due to the lack of a proper nozzle, even without full-body massages it will be gone quickly. It pours out, and its very easy to pour more than necessary. A nozzle that would diminish the flow would greatly improve the product.The small bottle size in conjuction with a price tag of 6 pounds makes it a pretty expensive massage oil. It would likely be a better option to either mix your own or buy a bigger, cheaper massage oil. This would also be better for the environment as there would be less packaging involved.

I love this as it doesn’t taste or smell artificial. It also left me feeling really smooth and moisturised and wasn’t too greasy/sticky as massage oils can be. The consistency is perfect as it just glides over the skin. The oil makes for a really sensual experience and the scent really just elevates it. Make sure you put a towel down first as it will stain bedsheets! Overall. definitely reccomend.

Our first oil, and it hasn't been the last
This was our first adventure with oil. We’d been curious but when researching were overwhelmed by the different types of base oils, the rules over how much of different essential oils you could mix for safety considerations etc. . So we thought it wise to start with something like this to see if we were even into it.It was the right choice.The size – we thought it might be a little small but it turns out oil goes a long long way. We’re a little heavy handed, deliberately, so got three sessions out of this. You could get more. From more recent experience – massage oils go off – so have a relatively short shelf life once opened. We made the mistake of buying a much larger Almond oil bottle and didn’t get through a third of it before needing to throw it out. So while seeming small, this is much better value for moneyThe scent – of all the regular essential oil or flavouring smells, vanilla is one of my favourites and this oozes warmth and comfort. Its not too strong, which I was initially dissapointed with, but after a few hours I appreciated it. Its not overwhelming. It doesn’t swamp your senses. It just adds to the ambience and mood.The texture – Lovely and smooth, warm to the touch. We did find it left a little sticky residue but then we did absolutely slather it on. I expect if you used a normal amount it would be fine, going by other reviews. Also, we have a hard time rubbing in suntan lotion so maybe its just our skin.Recommended? – Absolutely. Also invest in a fluffy water proof blanket so you don’t worry about the bed or carpet.
