Useful for peri-menopause & being sexually active after a long break
I was keen to review his product for a number of reasons. I’m at the perimenopause stage and i’ve become sexually active again and noticed that penetration is not as comfortable as it used to be. As the saying goes…..use it or loose it! I also find smear tests absolute agony so it was time to get help. I used them with YES Moisturiser/lube which is particularly good for these types of issues as it is a moisturiser as well as a lube. If you warm the dilator under the hot tap it also helps.The smallest dilator is 2-inch circumference and the largest is 4.25-inch circumference, the largest is really as big as you could possibly need! Each dilator has a soft rounded tip which makes it ultra-comfortable to insert. They are round to emulate a penis and come with a storage bag. The dilator handles are very easy to use particularly as you are supposed to twist and turn the dilator when you are comfortable. Insertion measurements are etched on each dilator so you can accurately track your progress which may be helpful.I have been using them for approx 1 week and have now been able to insert the largest one, although it feels incredibly large.It helps to lightly message or use a vibrator on your clit prior to insertion – this makes a big difference and makes it enjoyable. In preparation for going up a size, I circle the dilator round and round to make the vagina opening stretch – this nearly brings me to climax. I started at a size I was able to tolerate and worked up from there.

Upon first opening the parcel I noticed how heavy and premium this set of dilators felt. I’ve suffered from vaginismus / dyspareunia (painful sex) for over 10 years, and have been using another brand of dilators – the hard white plastic ones with a twist-lock handle – to treat my condition. I saw this kit on the Chanel 4 documentary and decided to give it a go; I’m so glad I did: these are much more comfortable and easier to use. The silicone material is softer but still rigid enough for the job; there are no sharp edges; the finger loops mean you don’t have to be a contortionist to use them; insertion is smoother; the graded sizes mean there’s less of a noticeable step change between dilators; and the measurement marks on the side are helpful to monitor progress. These feel overall less ‘cold and clinical’ to use, which isn’t just about the aesthetics for me – the shape and material feel much more comfortable and natural than the plastic ones, and seem to be more in tune with the muscles down there than unyielding plastic. After only a couple of uses, I’ve progressed further with this kit than I had with my old plastic set in years, and the results have been brilliant (i.e. least painful sex I’ve ever had). I can’t recommend this kit highly enough.

Excellent quality dilator set
These are really helpful for anyone with vaginismus or other pelvic pain conditions because they are designed to allow you to get used to the feeling of penetration at your own pace. By starting off with the smallest dilator (about the size of a finger) and inserting it as far as is comfortable preferably every day, your body starts to understand that penetration is not threatening and becomes more relaxed. Once you are used to the smallest one, you move on the the next size and so on.I have tried dilators before I got this set but they were cheap plastic ones that I found very uncomfortable, these, in contrast, are a good quality, smooth silicone and are much more comfortable. It is worth spending a bit more money to get a decent set like these!The packaging is smart and simple with lovehoney branding and a picture of the product on the front. Inside, there is a guide with simple instructions including diagrams which is very clear and easy to understand. They also come with a very useful plain drawstring bag for discrete storage which is a bonus. The dilators are an attractive pastel green colour which I think makes them look a lot less “medical” which, as someone with a fear of most medical related things, is really good. They are made with smooth, silky silicone and have graduated markings on the side so that you can see how far you have got when using them. They have a looped handle to make them easy to hold, insert and remove.My only criticism is that they are very rigid, especially the smallest one. They all have the same solid core with the softer silicone around that. This means that the smallest one is quite hard whereas the larger ones are softer and more flexible towards the tip. Personally I would have preferred them to be a bit softer and more flexible but other than that, I’m very impressed with these.

This 5 piece silicone dilator set is presented in a cardboard box without the use of any plastic. Included in the box is a grey cotton storage bag. Unfortunately, this particular one was frayed and had unraveling cotton, it is still functional, just gives it an air of cheapness. Made of a lovely, high quality, solid silicone, which has a wonderful luxurious feel and glides beautifully when lubricated. Each of the five dilators steadily increase in size, from ‘my little finger’ up to ‘a small dildo’, covering a wide range of potential users. Each of the dilators remain the same girth along their whole length rather than being tapered; has a large hole at the bottom or “finger loop”. The colour is a great choiceAs each dilator is made of solid silicone they are heavy, surprisingly so, and completely inflexible which caused some apprehension at first, however their rigidity, weight and their lack of taper ended up being their strengths. The inflexibility meant that once the body has adjusted to that size, you can be more confident in playing with other insertables of similar size, especially as they as more likely to be tapered, have some give etc (depending on the insertable of course). I would love it if the bases were different, or indeed they had bases. I can understand why the finger loops would be helpful, especially with hands covered in lubricant, however I would really love a suction cup style base, if only in the bigger sizes, allowing for use in a harness. I think this could be an excellent way to allow partners to feel connected and if they are working towards penetrative sex, this would be an excellent way to begin that transition. All in all this is an excellent kit with only a few niggles. £70 for that much solid silicone is quite the bargain in itself.

Game changer
When I saw these on the TV I thought I need to try those as I sometimes struggle with the initial insertion during sex and masturbation with dildos. I saw them pop up on the tester list and put myself down to test. Kept everything crossed and got that email to say I had been selected. I couldn’t wait for them to arrive.As expected the packaging is amazing and the calming pastel colours really help set these apart from the more sexy toys. The box is great with sections for the different sizes there is a supplied bag which is really useful but I will probably keep them in the box as storage isn’t an issue for me. The detail on the box about sizing is really good with 1:1 diagrams of the different diameter dilators so you can see exactly what is in the box which is really helpful as some toys can be abit vague with sizing and trying to work out just how big something is. There is a little booklet in the box to instruct on the correct usage and how to get the best out of them. Each dilator has length measurements on them so you can track your progress of using them working your way up in stages. They are made from a really nice feeling material smooth and soft to the touch with a good weight too making them really nice to use. The handles on the end are perfectly shaped to comfortably hold for a controlled insertion. I started with the smallest and quickly moved up a size but took my time to move to the larger sizes. I find insertion uncomfortable sometimes but once I get started it’s fine and enjoy slightly rougher sex but only after alot of warm up. The largest is around the same size as my husband’s penis and after a few sessions of using this set I could comfortably work up to the largest with time and lube.Since using these dilators I now have alot less discomfort when first inserting a dildo or my husband’s penis meaning a spontaneous quickie is now an option which has been wonderful. Overall if you struggle with vaginal tightness or painful/uncomfortable insertion then I would definitely recommend getting this set.

My endometriosis has caused me terrible pelvic pain and vaginismus, so my doctor referred me to a sex therapist who recommended a dilator set. I chose this set because they’re silicone (not plastic! why are so many dilators plastic), have easy to use handles, and a good range of sizes.I just wish they were tapered at the end to make insertion easier, because the silicone doesn’t have much give (dilators are meant to be pretty solid, and these are) which means the blunt head makes transitioning to the next size up a bit harder than it should be. If they were tapered it would be five stars.

I had a dilator kit already. Each one was slightly curved due to having a tapered end and I only managed to get to the second one in the set. They left me feeling really upset and frustrated with myself. I’ve only had this new set for 1 day and already feel like I’ve achieved so much more. I was worried about them not having tapered ends but actually the very fact that they don’t have tapered ends and that they aren’t curved are two very big positives. I unfortunately suffer from vaginismus and decided to buy this dialator set based on advice and reviews from other women.For the first month I was able to go up to the third size which I never thought was possible. I’m still using these 4 months on and I can now use up to the fifth size. I still find tightness and discomfort with the bigger sizes but I find the trainers do help your muscles relax more and to become more accustomed with the increasing sizes.They are very comfortable to use although the bag they come with is a little cheaply made. Overall if you suffer with vaginismus they are worth a buy.

obviously this isn’t designed for orgasms, but i was able to have one with the smallest size so far! the measurement ticks along the lengths are really useful (the sizes go up in half-inch increments from 3 to 5 inches BTW, and the diameter increases 5mm with each size) as well.the handles are actually useful, and these are solid of course because they’re dilators, but they are still made of soft silicone. plastic dilators terrified me – the thought of scraping alone is horrofying, but these are just squishy enough to cushion particularly tight squeezes lol. i’ve only been able to move up to the second dilator so far, but i feel like for only having these maybe a month that isn’t bad! also – i just use condoms on them because i get them free at my college and it makes cleaning easier, but when one slipped off (condoms only really fit the 3rd size and up, you have to stretch the base of the condom over the handle for the 1st and 2nd sizes) it was still super easy to clean. i was worried the measurement ticks would make it a pain in the ass, but nope!
