If like myself you aren’t very confident talking dirty in the bedroom or over the phone then this is perfect. It’s super fun and has some (all 52) really great tips and advice on what to say and in what situation. The pages are colourful with short text and pictures. I actually opened it with my partner and we had a flip through together. And before you know it you’re speaking words you never thought would ever leave your mouth. It’s not an in-depth read and it’s small (I think it’s A6) so could make a good stocking filler over Christmas or a present for a hen-do/stag-do. It isn’t biased against a gender either so could be something that benefits either partner and is a good bit of fun.

If you’re a fan of filthy pillow talk but need a bit of inspiration, or you want to encourage a partner to be more vocal in bed, this could definitely be the book for you. Firstly the book itself is cute – slightly larger than palm-sized, hard-backed and coloured in shocking pink and yellow, I think it instantly looks like a book you want to pick up and flick through. And you will be richly rewarded if you do. Inside there are 52 dirty talk tips (that’s one a week for a whole year if you pace yourself!) to help you bring sexy chat back. The tips are well written and presented and all entirely ‘doable’. I’d say about 50% of the ideas I already use on some level but the others provided lots of inspiration for future naughty chats with my Husband. The tips are short and succinct and nicely illustrated. Some are kinky, some are basic, some are a little more daring but they’re all guaranteed to spice up your evening. If you like the idea of dirty talk but sometimes get a bit tongue-tied this will absolutely boost your confidence, point you in the right direction and give you a good stock of phrases to whip out at the right moment. Similarly, if you want to help a partner feel more comfortable with such things, this would be a great gift. The perfect cheeky stocking filler.

As always with Lovehoney the order was delivered very quickly and in the usual discreet packaging. The book looks very nice and is set out with 1 tip per page. The tips are relatively brief and give an idea of what to say without going into too much detail to allow you to build on the idea. After the tip of what to say it goes on to give you some suggestion on how to use that to take your dirty talking further. If you’re used to dirty talking then this might be a bit basic, but as someone quite new to dirty talking and wanting to start this is a good place to get ideas.

Bought this as I thought it would be a goodbye present for me and the other half to try, neither of us know how to talk that dirty and surprisingly the book was pretty tame but it made us giggle a little bit. There are some repeated pages just worded differently.

I can’t fault the print, style and design of the book. It’s very well made an unobtrusive. It’s not really a guide though, more a collection of ideas that might lead to dirty talk. I was hoping for more on how to start dirty talking, what different styles of dirty talk there is, maybe a section to discuss different vocabulary and agree what is or isn’t a turn on. Instead the book is a collection of one liners that relies on you to both flesh out the activity. That being being said it was still a bit of fun and may help get some conversations started.

I think it would be a nice book for someone with very little experience… but there’s no advice for someone who wants to up the ante, and things are a more stagnant.
