Who's a Good Doggy?
Since the previous reviewer focused a lot on the quality of the build I’ll try to review the more psychological aspects of this product. I will just make a cover-all statement first saying that it is extremely well-made. I spent quite a while actively trying to damage it and it remained in perfect working condition. The design of the collar looks a lot like a dogs’; bright and a little bit garish. But that adds to the psychological aspect of wearing it. You’re not special enough to have a thick, padded leather one with studs and buckles. No, you get the happy, little velcro version. If you allow it to, it can really get into your head that you are just a pet and your role is to please your master. It is comfortable to wear for long periods of time and (unlike leather) the material doesn’t make your neck sweat. The velcro strap distributes the force around your neck when the lead is pulled from the front and the edges of the collar are padded and rounded so that it doesn’t dig in even if you yank it about quite viciously. Whilst well-made, the lead is a little bit flimsy. There isn’t any weight in it so it can’t really be used for flogging and it doesn’t hurt at all when you try to whip with it. The D-ring and clasp on the front however allows you to unclip the provided lead and substitute it for a heavier chain one should your pet require disciplining. On the whole, the affordable price tag on this item makes for a good first venture into the world of BDSM. However if you like to incorporate impact play this might not be the best choice for you.

Amateur collar
We brought this as part of A offer. It looks and feels nice and was also comfortable to wear. It does lead you in the direction your partner Wants you to go in. This product did help furfil my partners desire for domaination. He felt like he had complete control over me which did get him going. My partner loves this collar n lead. However I was really disapointed in this collar and lead. When I misbehaved n he yanked on it to correct me even tho I went in the direction he pulled most of it was done by me to please him. I found this very soft and caused no pain what so ever. Which did not please me! I was really hoping to feel punished and dominated but no such luck. This product is for soft bondage or for beginners if u are experienced and really into s&m this may disappoint you no matter how tight you do the Velcro it will not choke you

Great collar intro
This is such a soft sensuous collar don’t let the velcro or beginners put you off. Because of the velcro fastening it is as tight or as loose as your preference. I love the flash of red as it really stands out that you are collared when dressed for a night of pleasure. The D clip for the lead is sturdy and offers flexibility..which we used as a lead and later attached wrist restraints through the D clip with chains.. so it can become more than one type of restraint. Simple successful and looks great on. The cushioned fabric offers comfort for an excessive amount if wear. I wore it for 5 hours tight and it left no marks or discomfort…. in fact I missed it for a while when first removed. This is my first collar and I love it. .. now hoping to up my collar exposure to the many different types.

Beautifully made, but a lead which feels cheap
I bought this product along with the black version as I couldn’t decide. The material around the collar is soft but also firm and the material on the lead is wide and cheap feeling. Being a beginners item I didn’t expect much and considering the price I was pleasantly surprised. The product works well in a sub/dom arrangement and the lead is a great way to assert sexual dominance as it can be used to pull your partner towards you or tug them gently to keep them in place. My partner really enjoys wearing his collar and loves getting it out to play with. The fastening is secure and can handle some more heavy-duty play without breaking, the velcro around the collar is also very secure and stays put.

Comfy collar, but short lead
I got this as part of one of the bondage deals on this site, and was somewhat impressed with it. The collar is soft and comfortable, easily adjustable, and not too wide that it strains your neck. The ring on the collar is very strong and withstands a lot of pulling. But the lead is a lot shorter than I expected. I know it’s just a beginners set, but I was hoping for something a bit longer. Not a bad buy if you’re wanting to get started with collars and leads, and you can easily just attach and use another lead.

I must begin by thanking Lovehoney, as the whole ordering process, and the fast and discreet delivery, were quick and amazing. The collar and lead came packaged in a clear plastic bag with a Bondage Boutique tag, which is the same with all Bondage Boutique products. As soon as I looked at the collar and felt it, I knew that it would be comfortable to wear, due to the fact of it being so soft, and the velcro fastening made it easy to adjust if it was too loose or tight depending on your preferences. The lead is attached by a metal clip onto the D-ring on the collar. The lead itself is made of material, and it doesn’t feel as strong as a chain lead would be, but this could be changed at a later date if it was necessary. I have had the opportunity to wear the collar twice now, and both times it has been very easy to put on, as you just have to undo the velcro part and put it around your neck and then reattach the velcro. Although the collar is quite tall it would depend on the height of your neck, it was ok on me, but if my neck was a little shorter it may have been a little tall. Inside the collar is very soft and quite padded, so it is really comfortable to wear. I got this on a bondage offer which is 3 for £15. Alone the collar and lead would cost £9.99, so it’s definitely worth looking at the offer. I really do think that this would be suitable for anyone, beginners or not.

The best for beginners
I had been edging towards getting a collar and lead for a while, and I had kind of scoped out what Lovehoney offered well before I made any purchase. This seemed to be the best deal, and I didn’t mind that it was red instead of all-black like the other similar item. As always it was fast and nondescript; nobody knew I was ordering a sexy collar! It comes in a little plastic package and has a tag attached to it that you can remove before you get to the good stuff. I instantly noticed it’s made of good quality materials, as is common with items from Lovehoney. The fabrics used seem a bit scratchy and first and in your hand, but with use they soften, and honestly, I didn’t even noticed that when I was wearing it! The ring and clip are coated metal, and it’s quite easy to clip and unclip the lead. Putting it on is simple, as is taking it off in an emergency. It fastens with velcro and there is plenty of space; I have a larger neck and there was just the right amount of padding and velcro for me. Once it’s on, it’s very easy to slip into the role you wish to play; it’s an instant mood setter. I had no complaints being the one wearing it, but my partner did mention after that the handle is a bit awkwardly sized; larger than needed for just a hand hold, but too small to wrap twice around his hand. He has larger hands though so it might have just been him. The lead is a bit short if you’re planning on being led on all fours, but it serves its purpose admirably during sex. We even experimented with hooking cuffs into the ring on the collar with the lead, and it worked out quite well. There’s enough room in the ring for both the lead and the collar, though I wouldn’t suggest struggling too much with your hands and against the lead. All in all, I think it was a really great purchase and I hope it will not be our last collar or lead!

An essential bondage piece
I would definitely recommend this product along with the Beginner’s Bondage Kit in red, as it is a perfect match. Much like the other kit, it’s a good quality piece, made of the same material. The collar feels comfortable on, and there’s no fear of breaking the lead or the velcro, even if you’re tugging strongly. The only con to this collar and lead is that the lead isn’t decorative at all, it has no red or padding around the handle which is a bit of a shame. Other than that, it’s a great collar to have. Definitely pair it with the Beginner’s Bondage Kit!

Perfect for beginners
The collar fits perfectly around my OH’s neck aswell as my own as we often switch roles. The lead detaches easily from the collar so if the lead is not needed at certain times but you like looking at your partner in the collar, it is easily done. The velcro strap behind is very comfortable and does not dig in to the neck at all. When the lead is pulled, the neck feels secure and does not hurt so you can drag your OH around the room without thinking you are causing them pain.

Excellent

My girlfriend and I both enjoy submitting to the other, mixing role play and bondage into the fun. We are both quite turned on by the idea of wearing a collar, and the psychology behind it, so we have this one a try. Of course, this collar is part of the Basics range, but don’t let that fool you; this may be basic but that is no indication of quality. In fact, this is likely the best option for us. We don’t have loads of money to spend and this is very affordable, and my girlfriend is vegan, so leather collars weren’t an option. It fits both requirements well. Once on the collar is very comfortable and easy to tighten or loosen, using the Velcro strap. It isn’t too restrictive and as it is quite wide it doesn’t put too much pressure on your neck, but enough to remind you of why you’re wearing it! The colouring is perfect in our opinions; the red and black look great together. The lead that comes with the collar almost seems an afterthought for us. The collar has a lightweight metal D ring designed to connect to the lead, but we find attaching the basic range handcuffs to the collar is a lot sexier. However this is just us; the lead is sturdy, well made and easy to hold on to. Overall, this is a highly recommended product. The basics range does not disappoint with this, and it would be a shame to miss out on this. It really is excellent.

Soft feel collar
As usual the Package from LH was discreet and on time. We are new to any form of bondage but she really liked the idea of a collar after I sent her a gif of someone wearing one. It’s soft enough for beginners and provides the right amount of tightness and tension but doesn’t fully cut anything off.
