The toy is very quiet until you reach the maximum setting (cause the of the plastic dial at the base), but I’ve found that if you grip the silocone part it stifles the sound. To be honest if you take your time you may not really need to use the maximum setting (especially if you slowly build the amount up). The size was a little much for me personally (circumference wise) but I think that’s something that’s individualistic. This was my first toy so I didn’t quite know my preference yet.
