Beads for beginners
The package arrived quickly and discreetly, as always. However, that’s where the discretion ends. The item’s box is bright pink and has “anal beads” written down the side in bold, capital letters. This wasn’t a huge issue for us, but it might be worth some consideration for when you need to throw away the box. The box also has very simple, easy to understand usage instructions on the side to help any beginners feel more at ease. Inside the box, the anal beads are wrapped in plastic and in a heat-sealed plastic bag. The extra plastic seems a little unnecessary, but it helps to keep the product clean. I really like the colour that Lovehoney have chosen for this product. We don’t have many transparent toys, so it’s nice to have a change. Anal beads are a great way to explore anal at your own pace, whilst having multiple sizes to try yourself out on. As each bead gets larger as you go on, you can stop when you feel most comfortable. These beads are definitely aimed at beginners, or those who don’t like things too big. The first bead is about the size of an over-sized pea, with the largest one at the end being the size of a small gobstopper. Each bead is completely solid, and the connecting pieces are fairly rigid. The large ring at the end also provides a good handle for when you want to pull them back out. Both me and my OH had great fun experimenting with these beads. It had been a while since we’d played with beads of any kind, and these ones certainly didn’t disappoint. With plenty of water-based lube, my OH used them on me first. She pushed them in slowly as a total tease and paused between each bead. The spaces are just right for comfort and for leaving them in. The large ring allowed her to push and pull the beads in as she pleased and without much warning during our session. That was my favourite part about it – the element of surprise! When all the way in, the beads feel secure, thanks to the size of the last bead and the ring. I didn’t feel overly full as the large bead isn’t huge. However, I absolutely love the ‘popping’ feeling you get when pulling them out, and the gradual tapering between sizes allows for it to not be painful at all. Next it was her turn. However, she opted to use them in a different way. She didn’t use them anally – she put them down the front of her knickers when we went out to the shops. She managed to place them in such a way that every time she moved around, they would rub against her. She would be sitting on all sorts of things to grind them against her even more! It was certainly a first for both of us, but we both got a real thrill out of it. As basic toys go, you can’t go wrong with these beads. Having had these beads for around 6mths, I though it was time to add a review. As usual, the package was shipped quickly and discretely by LH in a nondescript brown box. Inside, the bead packaging was not as discrete (“anal beads” in big capital letters and instructions for use printed on the box)- not a problem for us but, if you need to dispose of the packaging discretely or were planning on using the box to store the beads, something to be aware of.
