Good Bar, Meh Cuffs
So, two things (or if you count cuffs separately, 3) come with this: the spreader bar and the ankle cuffs. The spreader bar is great – solid, sturdy, and with that elegant Red Rose design I love in their wrist cuffs and collar. Nothing to dislike there. But the ankle cuffs are disappointing. They’re thinner than their wrist cuff and collar cousins. The velcro is strong, but the clips are not. A couple times of good use and they bent – they no longer close properly, and fall off the bar. I have to use different cuffs until I find a way to replace the clips with something sturdier. I’ll admit I’m a struggler, but I’m still disappointed.

The ankle cuffs are really comfy but the way they clip on to the bar don’t make it very “restrictive” and unless you make them super tight they can move around your ankle making the gap way less than 20 inches… probably good for someone who doesn’t want firm restriction.

Fifty shades of kink
Brought this following months of thinking about getting one. It’s a great addition to our bedroom and we use on each other. Is definitely a starter spreader bar as although it does what it sais, the straps are Velcro so if your strong enough you could probably get out of it – but what we use it for it’s perfect! The length is also just right – perhaps for ge more experienced person with spreader bars you may want one slightly larger

I have ONLY JUST GOT THIS IN THE MAIL AND I’M SCREAMING!!! It’s absolutely beautiful! My first impressions were that the bar is sturdy, made well and intricately patterned. The ankle cuffs are even more beautifully patterned as you can see the rose detailing in detail! I wasn’t expecting great quality when I saw the velcro straps but I tied to them my ankles and they are NOT going anywhere. Super secure and super sexy, everyone needs this spreader bar! However, I would have liked it if you could adjust the length i.e. To pack away in a drawer as you can’t make it smaller and easier to hide away… Or if you can I haven’t figured it out yet.

High hopes, but doesn't really work
We’ve got a few pairs of cuffs and a number of restraint kits, but nothing that keeps my partner’s legs open, yet keeps her reasonably mobile at the same time. I thought this bar and cuff set was reasonably priced, so decided to give it a go. As usual, the dispatch and delivery time from Lovehoney was great. This came packed in the usual long brown box. Thank you. The bar and cuffs come in a clear plastic wrapping. As advertised, the bar has a hoop at either end for the cuffs to attach to. For anyone who’s purchased restraints before, this is all familiar. For those who haven’t this is really easy to put together. The cuffs themselves are easily adjustable and lined with a soft layer, which was nice. Sadly, when we came to use the bar and cuffs, they didn’t really seem up to the task. We found that the cuffs, no matter how tightly they were fastened could still slip around the ankles.This, and the flexible links between the cuffs and bar meant that 20 inches was soon greatly reduced. My other half was still able to block my access pretty easily. Then bending her knees meant access could be totally denied to me. Therefore we found them a little pointless. It doesn’t really work as a leg spreader. More ‘keeping the lower legs slightly apart’. The wearer can still close their legs. Maybe we were looking into this all wrong, as other people seem to think this is great. We’ll stick to our trusty under-matress and rope kits. Which is a shame.

Great addition to the fun drawer
As usual our Love Honey products arrive either before the estimated delivery date or on the date expected 😉 This spreader bar is very well made and looks the part with the pattern etched onto the bar itself and feels heavy enough for you to know it is not made of cheap materials. The soft cuffs that are supplied have good cushioning that allowed me to secure them tightly around her ankles using the Velcro fastening. This gave her the definite feeling that she was restrained in such a way that she was very submissive. Lying on top of the bar and using my elbows to prevent her legs from moving allowed me to go down on her for as long as I wanted to and she was soon begging me not to stop!! A great addition that added a serious amount of fun and spice to our foreplay.

Love love love this spreader bar, it’s strong so don’t have to worry about being to rough with it. Had spreader bars before but they always felt like they would snap at any moment but this one is perfect! The cuffs are Velcro which make them nice and comfortable , but they also detach from the bar so can different cuffs if you wanted too. The pattern on the bar is very pretty! Also helps with getting the right grip too 😉 The bar length is great too.. would definitely buy again if they brought out an even longer one! Overall the quality of this bar is absolutely great!

This was out first spreader bar & we realised immediately that it has design flaws.Firstly the bar is very small , due to the design of how the cuffs connect to the bar my wife can deny me with ease! Even when the bar is positioned above the knee.The clips & bar eyes also feel inadequate & would break very easily.This design would be better if it was longer and the clips were sturdier.Im failing to see how this kit can be utilised for its intended purpose.Personally it’s a waste of time & will not give you an experience that its designed for..Look elsewhere….this is not a good spreader

Great edition to the collect with multiple uses. The cuffs clip on which is nice so you can change them out to make it even more versatile. We have used it at the ankles, behind the back, and even at the thighs by attaching different cuffs. With the cuffs attached there is some movement still available. Great for beginners!

Too Tough for the Cuffs
Overall, a pretty good product, except after only one session of some more intense BDSM role play, I ended up bending the clips to the cuffs. I put up a good fight, but I’m no strength competition winner… still, one of them won’t close enough to really use at all now. Luckily, that’s not the biggest issue for my partner and I because we already have some other links and cuffs we can use still. The bar itself seems to be a decent enough quality for the price, though. If you are someone who gets really rough and puts up a fight, I might recommend having some extra clips on standby at least, just in case.

This product is fine, but you could literally make it yourself with a wooden dowel and some screws for way cheaper. The clips on the cuffs are cheap and don’t close properly.
